Correct me if I'm wrong, but last week "Monstrous Eye" was one of these rare materials that was absolutely useless.

Lol this has been a gimmick rumor since the game started, that these particular crafting items would be for well at first the expanded zone they gave us. lol Then the new gimmick rumor which also has been since the game started is that they will be for the new armor in the 2nd expansion.

But, let me give you some of my "inside information" hehe, the place you want to be standing when the expansion comes out is near the rare material trader. Find one asap and buy as much as you can afford.

Some people think that eventually they're going to release something that uses the monstrous items, like new armor or something, then they are going to be as valuable as ectos, obsidians or shards. So they are hording up on them now while they're still cheap, to sell back later once there worth a crazy amount.
Then they'll be rediculously rich for almost no work or cost.

But they could just end up being like steel and parchments just cheap common rare materials that are easy to get, and so the price will drop.

when they will be used if its a high quantity needed they will be worth quite a bit but if anything they will spike when they are finally used. either way you still make a profit.

Once that occurs the price will drop like crazy. I hadn't realised their price used to be 100g, which sounds more reasonable, maybe I better sell 9 of my 10 now

The important thing that I just realized is, it doesn't matter what they're for or how common they are, the day Chapter 2 is released, the prices on these items will spike since nobody will know what they're for yet!

There is a guide to the UW which tells you how to get that Gwen-UW quest. It is is not so far from where you get the spider, but you can only get that if you have the right quest items on you. You need the eyes and claws and the broken flute too for that one. It will open up the underworld armour and weapon crafter for you.
I can't find the link atm, but you should be able to find it if you search for "Gwen/Underworld/Elvisisalive" or something like that...

wait, iirc ink vials were needed to craft monk tattoo armor, right? If that´s correct they changed it to just feathers and parchment.
