For the hoh experts - eoe bomb

Ok, so my iway team got really far, finally got to hoh.
Then when we went into attack, all i see is edge of extinction about 100 times above my head, the my whole entire team dies from full life at the same time...
After some1 said it was an eoe bomb, but i would like to know how these things work and what step u would go about using it agaisnt another team.
Ive read the stats of edge of exctinction, but i dont see how it killed my whole entire team in 1 second.

Please use the search function. This has been discussed repeatedly on the forums including at least TWO posted videos.
