*** Ettin farming map ***
Mistermagoo
I'm looking for a map to follow outside of Beetletun, which will bring me to the most Ettins. Anyone got one? Or, is there a mission with lots of Ettins in it? -Thanks ahead of time :-)
Asrial
A straight line.
Red Sonya
Go left, then right then at the Y take another left until you come to a T then turn around and go back to the Y and go right, then follow that till you come to a circle and go around that 3 times, they should appear shortly.

Mistermagoo
XD thanks for the help -_-
Harold
If you do The Last Hog quest, a bunch of gypsie ettins come after you. I don't know if it's what you're looking for but it might suit your needs.
Asrial
Pretty much a straight line ![Big Grin](../Img/biggrin.gif)
Run from Beetletun to the pig, warp back to Beetletun, repeat.

Here is a map of the ettin groups I tend to encounter between Bergen and Beetletun. (Note: the first green dot outside Bergen isn't always a certain ettin location... sometimes ettins appear and beat-up the Bird-Baddies, and sometimes not)
Former Ruling
Then From North Kryta Providence - just go thorugh the Ascalon Settlement, and you'll meet some of the only Ettins that spawn there. The other ettins that spawn there are behind Skales, or on bad patrol routes.
As for strategy with that map - I usually only hit up the top 2 spots, and sometiems the third (amounts to 4-5 groups of ettins [groups being 3 ettins]). The lower ones nearer to Hot Springs tend to spawn with undead or Tengu...And thats a no-no in farming.

Lazy people. Just run outside Beetletun. Follow the damn road.

what's the big deal about farming ettins?
are people trying for pricey rune drops?
or, do people want their hump, their hump, their lovely hardened hump, their humphumphumphumphumphumphumphumphumphumphumphump?

it's worth it most of the time for the runes i have only been doing ettin runs for a few days and must have had 10 major vigor runes and about 4 supiors or random skills, still waiting for that only lucky Absorption drop though.

I have just encountered gypsy ettins and they were kicking our ass.
think I can tweak up the skillset, though.
at least to handle a couple at a time.
unfortunately, my lan buddy is going on vacation for 3 weeks.

this is why farming places get nerfed...because people cant keep thier mouths shut about things like this....

The most i can do is maybe 4 i think, and it doesn't help that they can't crowd like most mobs, like hydras there is a small limit to the ones that can fit around you ![Frown](../Img/frown.gif)
A-net know where everyone is anyway i'm pretty sure it's all kept track of.

yes i know, but if they see a pattern of alot of people going to the same spot over and over they nerf it...if one or two people go there alot it wont get nerfed...by letting people know where the spots are increases the traffic in there area, so therefore the less people know about it the less chance of it getting nerfed

The ettins have been heavily farmed for quite some time and mentioned over and over on here, if they change it there's always more places to try to farm.
The griffons are very well known and farmed every second of every day and yet it's still very fruitful to do.

Ettins have already been heavily nerfed. Their drops aren't nearly as good as they were.

Here's a philosophical question for y'all... is it still farming if it's fun and you don't get any good drops anyway?
just curious... *grin*
I've farmed trolls, ettins, griffons, hydras... griffons gave me good gold drops until recently. Nowdays my luck has run out and I'm lucky to get one gold drop (which usually goes to a vendor anyways) in two hours of play. I think I like trolls the best because you can get about 16 of them around you at once and to see them all die at the same time is... enjoyable. =)

I use my warrior to farm for skillpoints, so that i can unlock all my skills there. Also the cash helps
