These two skills seem to be only triggered by meelee attacks, so i think the discription is wrong, from my understanding "attack" is from meelee and bows, read discription here, http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Attack, also http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Block

Meelee attacks definenly trigger these skills, weather it be an attack skill, or just ordinarily swinging your weapon.
However i also tested this against Bow attacks as well as normily firing arrows, and Riposte is not triggered. Someone want to clarify if i'm right, thanks. Racthoh
Indeed it is only the melee attacks.

i contacted guildwars support requesting a change in the discription to "meelee attacks", or if it is bug that they make it so it blocks all attacks.

Yes, it's only melee attacks. I don't know if its a bug or if its fo' real.
Either way, a-net needs to make better skill descriptions Nexx
Wonder if it'll make any differences if the riposte also "blocked" arrow attacks but won't trigger the damage since the attacks were melee. Perhaps for deadly riposte (since you're using energy)... hmmm. Probably won't happen. Oh well. =]
