how do the game make choice on who to assign ectos to?

lets say,do a dual uw run,how do the game decides who this ectos goes too when a ecto drops? and can a person get 2 ectos in a roll?

I'm pretty sure it's just random, you can get two of anything else in a roll, so I don't think ectos are an exception, just rare.

it's completely random... if u have 2 players in the group... 50% chance the item that drops is urs... has nothing to do with ur name...

i was doing a duo with my me/ne (21 second SV, 29 dmg SS) with leslie from xD and after the end of one run:
Les: 4 Phantom Keys, 1 ecto
Me: 3 Gold Weapons
Les: 4 Phantom Keys, 1 ecto
Me: 3 Gold Weapons

Spin 4 times while in combat clockwise for ectos in UW and 2 times anti-clockwise in FoW for shards.

The game checks to see if I'm in the party - then assigns the ecto to someone else.

In a related question, how many monsters do you usually have to kill to get an Ecto drop?
I was in the UW for 3 hours on Friday night, and not a single Ecto dropped for anyone in the party.

The other night an ecto dropped on the stairs with the first group of ataxes.
I got both ectos that dropped that run (4 man team)

I heard it checks how many you have in storage, and then gives it to already has the most.
