I'm already well past there, around Divinity Coast (i think thats what it's called) but I can't finish my ice caves quest. Aidan has disappeared...do I explore the ice caves to find him? Outside both exits of Griffon's mouth (in Scoundrel's Rise and as well as Traveler's Vail) the quest arrow points to the cave, but within the cave the arrow that normally led to Aidan has disappeared, and he is not at the spot he was always at.
Will I have to abandon the quest and re-do it?

I'm on the same situation as you. But abandoning the quest and retaking it did not work for me. Aidan is missing somehow, I have abandoned the quest, relogged and tried again with no success.

Sometimes he gets killed by the Ice Ettins near his spawn location at the rez shrine.

Have you tried zoning in behind him from the other side? (i.e. from the Gates of Kryta)

done that too, he isn't spawning.

Same as Duma, I zoned out and re-entered and nothing. Aidan is simply not there. I also ran thru all the ettins to get there and no Aidan. I think he is on vacation heheh
