E/R vs E/N for PvE? (solo? hahaha)

Ok, I have to admit this is got me in a quandry. I like the look of both altho I'm tending to feel that E/N is better for PvE than E/R will be..

considering I'll more than like be solo'ing w/henchies more often than not.. at least at 1st.. hehh.. was wondering what people feel would be better combo. and yes, I've gove over like 6-7 pages lookign for answers.. and still left in a quandry :P

E/R is cool with the pet and all :P but having to scrifice 2 skill slots (maybe 3 if I want a pet shout) and likely having to dedicate myself to beastmasker attribute does worry me... since this then leaves me 6 skill slots to go to my damage skills/spells as well as heals... and heals could take up 2 slots if I wanted (hehe casting Troll Unguent while Aura of restitution is up.. nice! esp when surrounded by critters and health is dropping fast.. heh)..

But in all likely hood I'd only go with AuR.. which leaves me with 5 slots for damage.. and if I want to use any of the traps or spirit's from ranger side.. they are ore 'passive" than anything..

At least with E/N I can have multiple heal spells and have them effect the enemy while healing me (AuR & Life Syhpon anyone? :P).. and can probably mix & match E & N skills for better effectiveness than E & R skills...

altho I must admit I love my pet "Fluffy" :P but then again, I'm stll in pre-searing.. so no idea what I'll do psot-searing.. LOL

bah, could always go W/Mo .. but I don't like Warrior's much right now.. LOL - and yeah, I know.. picking E as a main is gonna prolly be a lot of pain for me in PvE .. hehehe.. bu oh wells..

I guess my only issue with R/E is those 2 slots for pet... heh.. I still feel that I can likely use some of the ranger spirit's & such as needed.. but don't know how much effect they'll have for PvE... while E/N offer's it's own "pet", which is good for short-turm use (right when you really need em) as well as a mix of damage spells and effects which hider/hurt the opposition... However, the sacrificing on max health in casting a lot of N skills does put me off N's.. heh I hate loosing health! hehehe

Soo, any advice/thoughts would be appreciated :P Remember this is NOT for PvP, but it's solely for PvE (roleplaying) and most likely going to be mainly solo-play w/henchmen (and please don't suggest W/Mo .. I realize that "solo" that might be betetr choice, but it's not what *I* want to play).

Just wanted to add some thoughts here, well about the E/R issue at least.

E/R does open up a whole new set of skill attacks if I'm prepared to use a bow. And with 4 different weapon sets, don't actually see why/how it could be a problem to have a bow in one of them... which would let me use some of the ranger bow skills (admittidly at less effect because I'll likely have none or low points in their relevant attribute..). Tho I'm unsure how effectve they are vs just plain ole E spells :P.. tho with a E/R char I have I only managed to complete one of the ranger skill quests with a bow and the relevant ranger skills (then again, I was having some issues with trying stupid skills at 1st.. and then got hit by laaaag the 2nd attempt... 3rd attempt I used ranger skills.. LOL)

A thought I had for R/E was the use of the spirit's - like in PvE if faced against critters weak to "cold" and I'm mainy fire.. use the spirit which makes elemental damage all cold based.. that would effect elementalist fire spells right? so turn say firestorm fire damage to cold damage?

Or use the spirit which makes melee damage into fire damage.. that works on enemy atatcks right? then with me wearing pyro armor.. I'd have added bonus against them then...

There is also the "increased speed preperation" ranger skill.. if that effects E spells.. could cast faster.. altho right now I'm having energy problems as my E/R if I try and cast too much.. (well, anything apart from flare spammage.. LOL)

Stuff like that is what made me look at E/R ... but stil considering E/N, but admit I haven't really "looked" into skills/spells to combine or work together... and as always, I'm put off with the life sacrificing of necro's.. heh but thats just plain silly I know :P.. I have looked over N briefly.. and there is always the kill & summon "pet" strat for cannon fodder, as well as stuff like life syphon as well as the slow-down curses (move and/or attack slow-downs) that might be effective.. wack em with a slow-down curse, hit em with life syphon and then smack em with spells... tho that would prolly chew through energy fast.. and iis set for 1v1 only.. groups your back to needing AoE.. or running like mad :P

Need to look into this more (heh, when/if I ever get the time :P)

look at skill descriptions if it says skills or actions it doesn't effect spells, or visa versa
