I seem to be having a lot of problems with my PC lately, starting about 2-3 weeks ago.

I'd play the game normally without any problems, sometimes for hours, and sometimes for just a couple of minutes, until the whole PC freezes and goes to a black screen and then restarts..

This has happened when I've had the game in windowed mode too, and I can still switch to other programs while it's happening, although it is really really slow. Sometimes it would crash and restart the PC, but other times I'd see a GW error saying something about my 3d output, so I thought it had something to do with my graphics card. So I uninstalled & reinstalled the latest forceware (81.7something), but this didn't really help.

Anyone got any clues to what else I can try?

PC spec is:

Asus P4C800 Deluxe Motherboard
Intel 4 3.0Ghz
1 Gig memory
GeForce FX 5700LE
Win XP SP2 + latest upgrades
Plenty of disk space

Maybe it's the settings (such as the properties of the v-card) that could do it.

Also a big thing could be overheating which would be the main suspect.

I know Dex might jump in and bite on this one

But seriously it might be overheating.. Is your comp really filthy? I mean like.. dust everywhere and caked on the fans? That would dramatically kill your 'fun' time on the compy. Dust clogs and clogs aslow things down and also burns them up because they work too hard.

Download some system check programs to check your tempt (go to ASUS or your ASUS install disk it might have it).

Also your RAM might not be enough.. (I kinda doubt it a bit though). What programs do you run other than GW? I mean like... something other than webpages and media players. That could be stressing the comp out now if it didn't earlier.

1. Clean PC?
2. What programs do you run other than Media/Web with GW?
3. Overheating Issues?

Then we can work on from there. =)
