I found and axe. It has + 3 health everytime I hit BUT it has a -1 health regn. That means if im not attacking something my health goes down little by little. Anyway to stop this or is the weapon crap? I mean, its a gold weapon and hits hard..

Swap weapon sets while not in combat.
Targon
No the -1 Regen just means you regain health at a slower then normal rate... it does not mean it will go down with just holding it
I have the same axe by the way

I have the Vampiric Bow and my health goes down about 1 per second when I am just holding it. Do certain classes or certain levels get a better regen rate maybe because I have to swap out my weapon while I am not in combat and to me the +1 regen on hits does not balance out the -1 regen per second you get even in battle.
Venger
Yes...my health goes down when not doing anything...it sucks

Real vampires of lore NEED blood or it hurts...[something like dat]
Fact is, this game is not about [WOOT MAH ITEM IS MORE GODLIKE THAT YOURS]
It's about trade offs. All the uber-leet bonuses from any weapon I've recieved have been minor or traded off logically...
You're gonna be a vampire? Then u must ALWAYS feed [hit enemies to death dur...]
So please don't complain about a weapon giving you that perfect advantage over everyone else. If you want those weapons, please play another game... Sorry to be mean but I find it ridiculous that people want 'perfect' anything when this game is based on ur skill. If you're not 'skillfull' enough to switch / carry spare weapons, then uh.... please don't complain?
Chasing this one warrior in a pvp run reminded me of just how tactless some people can be... she was the last one in her team standing and she outran all of us [we were a team of mostly warriors] She had almost no hp and we just couldn't catch her, till I switched to a bow and planted an arrow in her spine...

Yukito I think you are missing the point here totally. The game does offer weapons and upgrades and so yes a part of the game is to get a good weapon (which in turn may be better than other peoples weapon and will help you win in PvP). It just so happens that the person is unsatisfied with the performance of the Vampiric weapon because of the loss of life while holding it and I know for the bow the Vampiric upgrade isn't really worth using unless you have a super-fast bow. Now while I am sure you are perfectly happy with using a low-damage weapon with no upgrades because you don't want to have a "better" weapon than others, most of the Guild Wars population wants to have good weapons that are worth using. This upgrade in my opinion is not worth using because the benefits do not outweigh the negatives (even if you switch out and use only in combat...)
foxfire
Yeah just ditch the weapon and hope for better the trade off isn't worth it.
On a side note, Yukito, nobody was complaining the person who posted was asking if there was anyway to stop the health degeneration or if he should junk the weapon. Next time you're gonna post just to troll and talk about some lame story about yourself, don't. Try and stay on topic.

Vampiric weapons are great.
This means that you deal 3 extra damage with each hit - because you steal that life form your target. And this damage isn't reduced by armor, so when you're fighting heavily armored foes, the 3 extra damage can easily mean some %20 percent or more of your total damage.
And as the first reply said, when you're not fighting, swap it for another weapon, you have 4 slots, it's easy and painless.

As said before, use another weapon set for outside of battle. I'm using a gorgeous Zealous Axe. I'm a Warrior and I use that and the monk skill Balthazars Spirit (Correct skill? I'm talking of the one with +energy +adrenaline when you're hit). I have exactly zero energy regen. But once I get into battle, swinging that axe, and have a ton of guys pounding on me, I'm at full energy nearly the whole battle.

Uhm on the other hand, please whisper me in game and I'll trade you something without vampire...
This also goes for zealous weapons.

For an easier regen just go monk as your secondary. Throw on "live vicariously" and you gain hit points every time you whack someone. I currently get 9 hit points back every hit...quite handy.

Yes, I now switch weapon when not in combat...

Sort of off-topic but related to the vampiric questions.... Someone had mentioned in another post about using a Vampiric Bow that you should only use it with a fast-rate of fire bow, but is there any way to tell what the delay ratios are on these weapons? All my weapons just give me a dmg output range. It would be nice if the delay was a stat listed on the weapons.
