What are the GW transportation modes?
Kiwi
Hmmm... lemme think #1 is walking... #2 is running... but do they have like some faster thing? Like boats.
Devil's Dictionary
There is insta-travel. Open the world-map and click on the location you wish to go to.
Whosa Skylore
and.....you cant walk its a fast paced game
Blademaster
With people who can run that fast to location X, it's amazing how slow they run once they get to location X......

That's strange, I think something like Horses would be nice. It would take like 20 minutes to get across Tyria. And walking, 1 hour. But instant, my character might throw up, he's very sensitive.
Blademaster
Personally, It always did aggravate me when I had to walk for 20 min. to reach location X...only to find that I missed a small quest item and had to trek all the way back to location Y....Then all the way back to location X

The game is geared for running... but there are ceratin areas that the graphics are so amazing, and spectacular that you will want to stand still.
And then you remember, there... there over the next mountain... the adventure awaits.
There has been talk of horses, and ideas of other types of travel.
The map is a great tool, it gives you the imagination factor... was your character transported by magic, or did the time lapse... the best part about the game is that there is no waiting for quests and missions... everything is constant.
During BWE Feb., the game met and exceeded all my expectations.

I think horses would be good, then like in FFXI you could set a place in the world if your there and you can teleport there, nowhere else though.

Insta travel actually sounds kinda bad to me...
Combat is good and all (really good) but I want to take my time and enjoy the scenery in such a good looking game. I could understand insta travel to landmarks and such, so you dont have to walk all across tyria to trade with a friend, but being ableo to travel instantly to any area sounds like it sorta cheapens the travel experience. Of course once I get my hands on the game, (god I hate amazon ) this might turn out to be a good thing, or maybe I misunderstood the system?

I think that adding horseback fighters would be neat. Like you could get a horse and rangers could be a horseback archer, or warriors a Horseback Knight, etc. Comments?

you can only instantly travel to cities, not "anywhere". look at this map. those points that look like pushpins or shields are where you can instantly transport to, but only if you have already been there once. all other areas you gotta walk bub.
Blademaster
hmmm, got a link to the smaller scale of that map?
Kiwi
Thanks you, I didn't know that. Proablly because I haven't played GW BWE yet. But I have code and downloaded client and such. Also I've been researching GW like a madman for the last month.

Weezer_Blue
yes, and it's not like you can't traverse the entire map by foot if you have such a whim.
Blademaster
Ok, thanks anyway.
