2 black dye drops in a row

Title says it all really,

I was farming outside agury rock when a minotaur dropped my first ever black dye...yeeeehaaaawwwww! so i ran to the next mob and i found another black dye...YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!! I also found 2 near perfect swords on that run

anyway though this cant just be coincidence and wondered if this has happened to anyone else? or if they noticed unusually good drop rates sometimes for no reason?

I had been farming this place to death so its not the farming nerf reseting.

i got once 3 superior monk runes on 1 run... O.o

I have had some very very good runs were drop rates both quality and quanity were great. I have also had the opposite happen where hardly anything worthwhile dropped. It is suppose to all even out over the course of playing, but sometimes I wonder.

Yeah, I had 3 black dyes drop in one day for me in pre-sear once. I was just walking along, killing Devourers with my little monk girl, when Bam! I get black dye. Few minutes later, more black dye. Go to the Poison Devourer quest, wouldn't you know it, more black dye. I was happy that day. ^_^

I've noticed this as well. Sometimes, after having not farmed for a few days, i'll notice that one of my farm runs produces tons of good drops. then, nothing good will drop for a while. For example, one run i had produced purples, a gold, and 3 sickles.... the next, nothing but white junk.

im currently farming grifs and the best drop ive gotten 2day was a non max perfect hammer which i salvaged to get 5 wood planks

got a black dye last night, was hoping for another to pop up.....It was only a longbow...

Drops have been so bad for me, that I compensate for all of you!

it just seems too coincidental for 2 blacks to drop in a row when I have been playing hundreds of hours and never found one before. This makes me think there must be some kind of other influence..maybe some global area variable that increases drop rates in random specific areas?

anyone know if this is possible?

I have noticed that dye drops seem to come in waves of the same colours - as if there's a little timer or something, ticking away. To the point that I got 4 silvers in a row. If a dye drops and another drops shortly after it seems to often be the same colour as the first.

I've Heard its also affected by favor, If America has favor and you are on American Servers you get better drops, but I dunno

I've gotten 4 silvers in a row as well, and I have 26 purples in storage, because purples drop for me almost 4:1 compared with other dyes.

I heard the favour rumor too, but I think its just rumour. The same colour dropping in a row seems likley though cos I have noticed this in the past but though it coincidence, but this cant be coincidence with black drops because they are so rare.

Depending on my character and where I may be playing (at times farming), I get gold drops from farming but they always suck, all of my characters are dye magnets even in the UW (approx 10 black dyes in last 2 months playing just 2 builds primarily).

Farming runs on griffs/minos & Trolls = a fat lot of nothing for me. Golds & Purples sure....but they ID into crappola.

I do know that when things seem to be going well -- as far as drops on a farming run -- I keep at it as long as I can. I may be totally wrong but seems as if some runs are magical when it comes to drops. (The counter argument would be - and this part is true as well - that the longer you farm the better the chances of good drops ... it's sort of like fishing, the longer the bait is in the water, the better the chance of catching a fish).

I was in a trapper group tring to get ectos drops, and it was my third time hunting from back to back, well it was kinda late that night and i was very sleepy and i said i was getting off after the first group of smites, but sumthing told me to go to the next 2, i did and on the 3 one i got ecto, so then i kinda woke up, and after another group of smite the 5 one was also ecto, was happy i stayed up later, also for got i got no drops untill i got ecto ecto was first drop for me on that run

My best black dye drops were in UW with 55 monk and SS necro. First run dropped two black dyes. Second run dropped one black dye and two silver. This was couple weeks ago and no black since then.

Black dye drops? I thought it was only available at the dye trader.

The dye trader can only trade what has been given to him. If no one gives him a certain color, then he will not have it to offer.

Was it cold in that room?
