Ok, in my last post i was shop down like a red headed stepchild, but for good reason..... i'm a noob.

I'm looking for help with a Boon healer.

This is what i have:
1. Divine boon
2. Offering of blood.
3. Some rez spell of choice.
4. ?
5. ?
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?

This build is for P v E. I'm assuming that i have a decent protection monk in the group as well.

I have read other posts and i have sound that almodt every monk skill has been suggested to fill the 5 slots. In others opinions, what would you use to fill the other 5 slots??

My choice, i would use Orison, Dawny's kiss, vig spirit, heal other, and mend ailment.

Would this be an effective build for PvE with a good protection monk.
If not what should i swap?

I prefer a Boon-Pront monk myself.

10 Blood
11 (Or 13) Pront
15 Divine Favor

RoF
Mend Condition
Sig of Devotion
Offering of Blood
Ageis
Guardian, Pront Spirt, or Hex Removal
Boon
Rebirth

Healing Via Pront spells. You're not as likely to over-heal, and the second Ageis is nice.

Refer to that thread for ideas. Not the Boon-Healer build, but the Boon-Pront builds. They work just as well in PvE as PvP (Alrough you don't need the hex removal as much in PvE)

I useually boon-prot. There aren't many points where a boon-heal is needed, because if you wait long enough to not overheal, the perosn is probly dead.

My build: Made from scratch.

Orison Of Healing
Word Of Healing
Healing Touch
Divine Boon
Mend Ailment
Heal Party
Flexible Skill
Restore Life

Healing touch to keep yourself alive, obviously flexible skill is changed depending on the circumstances, i usually take breeze.

This build is focused around big healing, which it does well. I also used this in PvP, 3 W/Mos and a Ranger couldnt kill me, all i was doing was running in circles and Healing Touch + OoH.

If anyone has a way to improve this build, feel free - by no means is it perfect, but it does the job, does it well.

First off, a Boon-Monk without some form of energy management is a boon monk with no energy. You need some energy management, it is not just a good idea.

To avoid overhealing with a boon healer, you'll have to wait untill the target is near-death. With 1s cast times on most healing spells, that is not something I would feel safe doing.

Most monks that I have seen heal when HP is at 3/4, or sooner! At that point, you don't need boon. A boon-pront monk will still heal a nice amount with RoF. If you overheal with RoF, the next damage taken is still negated.

RoF = Reversal of Fortune

Boon prot I use:

Divine Boon
Mend Ailment/Holy Viel (depending on where I'm going)
Signet of Devotion
Reversal of Fortune
Guardian
Aegis
Offering of Blood {E}
Rebirth

Blood: 10
Prot: 10 + 2
Divine: 11 + 3

Boon with healing prayers is overdoing it. You'll have to wait till they're almost dead or else you're overhealing too much. Boon/Prot just seems to work better.

"Boon with healing prayers is overdoing it. You'll have to wait till they're almost dead or else you're overhealing too much. Boon/Prot just seems to work better."

^^^ I never understood that argument (unless you're soley talking about a focus-fired character in PvP).

I'm sorry, but 50%-66% health is hardly almost dead (not in PvE anyway).
A pure healing monk using boon with say, 14 Healing and 12 Divine Favor, heals for exactly 166HP (67+38+61) with Orison of Healing.
That's only about a third of a 500 HP character's life. Hardly overhealing.

Now, the trick to using a boon healer monk is to take exactly zero 10 energy healing spells (except for possibley Healing Seed, depending on the situation).
That means no Heal Other and no Healing Breeze, because that WOULD be overhealing, and at too steep a price.
Just use 7 energy heal spells when their health bar is between 50% and 66%, preferably closer to 66% because many people have X%>50 damage bonuses that you want to keep in play. Then use Signet of Devotion when their health bar is between 75% and 90%, for that free top-off heal every 5 seconds. And of course, leave the 10 energy spells at home. 7 energy spells provide all the spiking you'll ever need.
But if you're really looking for a super skike spell, take World of Healing (if you can free that slot).

And don't even get me started on all those "energy efficient" monk builds out there that use Offering of Blood as their elite, and then bring Heal Other for their emergency spike heal in place of World of Healing, lol.
Hope that extra 5 or so energy is worth being a weaker healer (do the math and factor in the opportunity costs if you don't know what I mean).

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to answer the original question, lol.
Here's a basic PvE boon healer build that I would recommend:
Mo/W (14 healing, 13 Divine Favor, 4 Protection; <--- with all minor runes; 54 energy with the proper equipment):
- Divine Boon
- Orison of Healing
- Dwayna's Kiss
- Signet of Devotion
- Mend Ailment or World of Healing {E} (depending on the situation)
- Vigorous Spirit or Healing Seed (depending on the situation)
- Restore Life
- Sprint

If not what should i swap? Ok, well first off, normally if you're playing boon it is more effective to use protect. You don't have to, but most people find it to be much more effective. If you want to stick with boon healing (which is fine, especially for endgame PvE missions, UW, FoW, etc), then here's my recommendation:

Orison of Healing
Healing Touch
Dwanya's Kiss
Healing Seed
Mend Ailment/Holy Veil/Remove Hex/Convert Hexes (depending on area and your prefence)
Divine Boon
Offering of Blood
Rebirth

Basically, you're using Orison and Dwanya's as your primary heals. Don't spam them constantly, use them when a person is getting to around 1/2 of their max health--that should put them pretty close to full. If someone gets in trouble, throw healing seed on them. Use your hex/condition removers liberally, and offering as often as you can. Never use rebirth in battle.

For the build you suggested:
-You don't need heal other as a boon monk. It is a complete waste of energy, and you will just overheal like mad with it.
-I prefer healing seed to vigorous spirit, personally. When I've played as a warrior and ranger, the healing from vigorous spirit (especially in late game) is normally not enough to really be able to help you. If you are being pounded by 3-4 targets on the other hand, healing seed is a lifesaver.

I play boon prot, and run similar builds to what others have mentioned before me.

Divine Favor: 11+1
Protection Prayers: 11+1
Blood Magic: 10

RoF
Mend Ailment/Condition
Guardian
Protective Spirit
Offering of Blood
Signet of Devotion/Aegis
Divine Boon
Rebirth

This is for PvE, so I stuck in a res.
