(Not sure where to post this...)

I just have general questions about "Upgrade Components". If someone could lead me to a FAQ about them, that would be great.

I have never seen upgrade components dropped after fighting monsters. Does it happen? If not, where do you buy them? What kind of upgrade components are available? Are they available for every class?

The upgrade components, commonly called mods, are not dropped by themselves. They are attached to weapons with colored names. You have about a 90% (i think) chance of getting a mod when you use an Expert or Superior Salvage Kit on the weapon. Sometimes you will get crafting materials.

After you salvage the mod, you double-click on it and then click on the weapon you wish to upgrade. You can mod over existing upgrades so be careful. You dont want to lose that +30 mod to a pruning mod.

In the Ventari's Sell section of this forum is a Price Check subforum. In there at the top is a thread with current mod pricing.

There are 2 versions of mods. There's the 'pre' and the 'post' Pre means something like Sundering Cleaver or Poisoner's Shortbow. Post means Sickle of Axe Mastery or Ghostly Staff of Enchanting. A good combo for a caster is a double health mod. A perfect Hale Staff of Fortitude adds 60 hp.

Prefix and Suffix are the salvagable mods. The bonuses, such as +15% damage while health is above 50% or Improves casting speed using Death magic skills chance 20% are weapon inherant.
