How well would you say GW is balanced right now?

I think it's a pretty well-balanced game, but could be better. There's no single dominant strategy - everything can be countered - but the primary necro is weak in PvP, some skills just suck, and there are some other issues.

IMO. I think that necro's are the best way to counter warriors, atm.
all those nasty debuffs.. *shiver*

If you're getting repeatedly killed as a necromancer primary in PvP then you're doing something wrong, as you should be avoiding direct combat and your team should be defending you. As for skills sucking, no skills in this game suck, they just depend on how and when you use them.
I hate "unabalance" / "nerf" posts.

Necro skills are fine, but they will continue to be as fine if you use them on a secondary. And then you will be able to use them with better armor, more energy, or faster casting depending on your primary.

I enjoy nothing better than sticking a load of debuffs on and then sucking the life out of them with a spirit tap now and again

I'm still not too impressed with the necro skills. I wish they'd have more utility to stop healing without killing themselves.
I simply LOVE plague touch though. Went 1 on 1 with a mouthy mesmer necro kiddy. /spam plague touch. He killed himself. Its funny stuff.

Hmmm ... Mesmers and Necromancer NPCs seem to be the first to go down in a battle. Of course thats with the idea that the computer is playing all classes at their fullest.

Necros are viable in PvP.. it's just that they're better at support than doing damage. Pretty effective at countering monks, too, which is always nice.
I'd say the game is pretty well balanced at the moment.. a few characters have skill lines that are not particularly useful (Beast Mastery kinda sucks, for example), but every class (and, ergo, every combination of classes) has some heavy weaponry to bring to bear if you build right.

The N and Me henchmen didn't exist for most of the BWE's, so their AI has had less tuning than the other characters.

From my understanding and certainly experience so far, Necromancers are not supposed to go toe to toe, ideally they should be back with the spellcaster / ranger laying down debuffs and stealing life from afar and sucking spirit up with maybe mes, or raising minions and sending those into battle reaping the energy back from deaths or simply stacking hexes and curses in chains to cause hurt. Other than as a w/ne i can't see why you'd place a necromancer in the thick of battle unless you were there by accident

I run a N/Me in PvP. I love messing with the W/Mo's Most don't understand whats going on.
The Fox
I think the game is very well balanced, and if it gets changed around (due to whinning) this good balance could get messed up... So I'll be content to live with the game as it is.

I actually play a N/E and in a group, I never run out of mana, Have a selection of High Damage DD / AoE fire spells and summons. My skills are setup for PvE and the are more than enough.
Have not tried PvP yet, but with the correct selection you could be very deadly.
In PvP the only direct 1 on 1 class is the warrior and if it is 1 on 1 the warrior will win, but GvG is something completely different.
There will never be a Perfect Balance that suites everyone. That is simply impossible, but if the majority like it you have cracked it.

I think the game is pretty good right now. I love the diversity of skills right now. My only real complait is the almost required nature of healers , both pve and pvp. I don't want any monks getting nerfed ,it's just that even mobs with just one healer become a major pain the neck. And 2 mob healers in group get to the point of being impossible to kill.
Is it just me but healer mobs never run out of energy?

Beastmastery needs some love, which would help the ranger profession in general, but the game is otherwise nicely balanced. Thanks Arenanet!

Iv got a necro mesmer build only at lvl 13 though, but iv found a bunch of cool combinations of skills.
Iv got a skill combo that can stack -10 regen, slow attack speed, and -2 regen on all nearby enemies in 5 clicks, one of those clicks is stealing 10 energy from an opponent though
Another combo i use sometimes is back fire and energy burn on casters, and empathy and insidious parasite on a melee, in the same skill set. But thats more for shutting people down than taking them out, and in the n00b arenas you need to be able to look after yourself quite a bit

Im having a hell of a time with my alternate necro, level 8 now. I love the drain spells, especially in PVE.

Yes that's called balance. The necromancer primary is no weaker than the elementalist primary, the mesmer primary, or the monk primary. The Henchlings NPC's that seem to go down easiest are usually the Healer, Mage, Enchanter and Cultist. Playing with them alot, I have yet to see how helpful the last two are... Healer does her job well enough, Mage does well enough as well, but both die alot...
As far as player vs. player, balanced? It is, but coming face to face, a team with caster, versus a team of warriors, anything can happen, however all the times I've been in that sort of situation, the W/Mo's mowed us down, higher armor class and four of them at once pounding on you isn't fun. I'm a E/Mo myself...

I think GW is perfectly balanced, the reason why? The multiclassing. Picture this game with just one profession, believe me, these forums would turn into WoW forums if that was the case, multiclassing is the greatest thing to put into a mmo.

I think its well balanced besides one fact. You can make the decision to put a ele or a mesmer or a necro in your Team. But you can only choose to put in 3 or 4 Monks.
I think its very noticable that most teams consist auf 4 Wa 4 Mo and do more then well. And that bothers me very much. Calm down the healer (or rise the Mesmer) so 1 monk will be worth it but there will be no need of 3 Monks. That would be great.

Sorry to say but a Necro is NOT underpowered. I saw first hand, a Necro on my team, take out both a Ranger and Warrior by himself when the rest of our party was killed. Can't remember what his secondary was but his performance was impressive to say the least.
