Shameless Call for help during the next BWE, take two

Those who've been around might remember we asked for help the last BWE. Well, we're going to do so again. We're, of course, going to poor over skills and armor and all the rest to make sure we're accurate and up-to-date and try to update things with the data we've found. But we'd also like to expand our content. One thing we'd like to add is a section on items and their modifiers. This, of course, is a tricky prospect because of the sheer amount involved. However, we think that with the help of those here we can make a good stab at it. What we'd like is a comprehensive overview of the types of weapons and modifiers and upgrades and the rest that are available to at least put in place so we can update it as time goes by. We'll want things like the names of the foci that are tied to each attribute, the ranges of damage and +AL on weapons and shields, what the upgrade components are, and all that. So, here's what you can do to help:

We want, at the least, a list of all the modifiers/upgrades available. Finding the ranges on items is easy, as should be the maximum values on modifiers, but what we want to know is exactly what's out there. We can either do a lot of farming ourselves, or ask for help. When you come accross a modifier you've never seen before or one that you think is rare or unusual, let us know about it. You can post the details here (screenshots - for authenticity - are appreciated, otherwise be as specific as you can, what's the item's name, is it rare, where did it drop, what are the stats, and so on.) or otherwise get the information to us. You don't have to give us any items for free or spend your time farming, just keep track of the odd items you find as you play. By pooling our resources hopefully we can get a good picture of exactly what's available so we can figure out what's the stuff to lust after.

Just to be specific and avoid posting useless stuff, do you just want high end stuff or really anything we find out there ?

We want the maximum values on things, sure, and that's more likely from top-end stuff, but we, at minimum, want to just know the types of mods out there. If you find one that's less than maxed and you don't think it's common knowledge, we'd like to know about it.

I was looking around for hammer upgrades last BWE and I must've been shown every type under the sun. This time I'll remeber to take screenshots of the stats whenever I run into upgrades.

I'm going to be running around in my spare time this BWE snapping screenshots of the different types of armor available in game. If you've got a particularly rare set of armor (Ascalon, Frostbound, Virtuoso, etc) then drop me a PM so I can snap a screenie.

After heated discussion amongst the various staff and contributors, we have something else we'd like help with. As you're all probably aware there's reportedly a heavy emphasis on the PvP content this weekend. Specifically a bunch of new GvG maps. We, of course, want to present as much information about those maps to the public as soon as possible. And, while we can post names and little things like "Hey, there's a thief you can use to open the doors!" we'd, obviously, like to be a lot more detailed than that. We want screenshots and strategies, tips and tactics, and all the other stuff you've come to expect from us about those maps. But to do so, we'll need to play them a bit.

That means we need people to form some guild teams and to gleefully beat on each other while we test things out. So, what we're going to do is to fund the creation of a series of "dummy" guilds. We're not out to climb the ladder, we'll just set up two or three guilds and arrange matches between them. Given how things work with challenges we might have to disband and restart guilds several times, too, but we think we can find the funds to take care of all that if it makes our site better. But what we need is people to join those guilds.

So, if you're interested in helping out, you're more than welcome to join us. Not everyone from the Guru is going to be involved - some of us, like me, won't be able to take part in things this weekend and others have their own things to do - but it's a good chance to meet some of us and to get a game in. These guilds are just for the purpose of testing the new maps, they're not going to last and there's no obligation for joining beyond a few matches. You don't have to sign a blood oath to Gurus, if you don't have a guild yet it's a way to try out the GvG content and if you do you can just show up for a bit of fun when you have nothing else to do and then get back with your actual guild when you're done testing. We'd prefer to do it that way rather than asking any established guilds to help. By establishing guilds to disband and pitting them against each other we hopefully won't affect anyone's ladder rankings. And testing is the primary goal here, we'll try and have fun, I'm sure, but we might want to break off an attack to get a screenshot or to explore a corner of the map or something before we go back to killing each other, so if you don't think you can follow instructions or would get bored with the testing, don't bother to sign up. But, otherwise, leave your character name here if you're interested in joining and we'll send you an invite, the people who'll be guild "captains" will hopefully provide some contact information here and you can contact them in game or through PMs if you're worried about privacy. Friday looks like the best day for all this to happen as it gives everyone time to run with their real guilds and us the ability to post things quickly, but who knows how things will work out.

I would gladly help out, even though i am making a clan, but alas i havent found a code for me to use(damn amazon and its no code! ), but if your foing the same thing next BWE, and if i can find a way into that one, then i'd ne happy to join!

I'll be around at about eight maybe thirty cst. My current Character is only lvl 11 if it s still there, (last time I was on a friend pass and I don't know if my character will still be there). I know nothing about this GvG warfare and I would like to learn. This sounds like a prime time to learn. So seek me out an let me know what to do.
