I have always used a wand an a secondary item as it added much more energy than a staff. Are there any two handed items that may make me change my mind?
I have always thought more energy was the way to go and just wanted to make sure I was right. + Health or + Skill recharge or + Casting time are also nice as the time requires, but mainly I wanted more energy. The staff wrappings I have found have just never really made me want to use one either. Let me know if I am wrong please.
Another question since I am an elementalist...

It's not true that 2 items give you more energy then 1 item, you can upgrade a staff, that it gives you more energy. Also a +60hp staff bonus is great, so why 2 items?
I also like the look of a staff, but that can be different for you. I want to reccomend a staff, but well.. it's your charac.

You can get a staff up to +15 energy with an insightful staff head.

And you can get wands that give you +5 energy as well (conditional though).
I use wands and an artifact, as you can't get +45hp while enchanted on a staff, and I end up with more energy. I would consider changing though for the 20% enchant mod, shame you can't get that on an artifact...
