i like very much the beast master skill but it doesnt seems to be appreciated, but i want try it..
ah a note, im quite noob in gw and this build is only theorical, i havent tested it
Beast Master

Ranger/Necromancer
Level: 20

Expertise: 11
BeastMastery: 10
Marksmanship: 10
WildernessSurvival: 1

- Hunter's Shot (Marksmanship)
If Hunter's Shot hits, you strike for +11 damage. If this attack hits a foe that is moving or knocked down, that foe begins bleeding for 18 seconds.
Energy:2,8 Cast Time:0 Recharge:5

- Concussion Shot (Marksmanship)
If Concussion Shot hits while target foe is casting a spell, the spell is interrupted and your target is dazed for 15 seconds. This attack deals only 11 damage.
Energy:14 Cast Time:0,75 Recharge:10

- Troll Unguent (Wilderness Survival)
For 10 seconds, you gain health regeneration +4.
Energy:2,8 Cast Time:3 Recharge:10

- Feral Lunge (Beast Mastery)
Your animal companion's next attack is a feral lunge that deals +17 damage. If the attack strikes a foe who is attacking, that foe suffers from bleeding for 18 seconds.
Energy:2,8 Cast Time:0 Recharge:10

- Call of Vitality (Beast Mastery)
For 60 seconds, your animal companions have a 9 base damage reduction and 203 health.
Energy:5,6 Cast Time:0 Recharge:55

- Fertile Season (Beast Mastery)
Create a level 7 Spirit. For creatures within its range, every creature's maximum health is increased by 403 and they gain +24 armor. This Spirit dies after 70 seconds.
Energy:2,8 Cast Time:5 Recharge:30

- Charm Animal (Beast Mastery)
Charm target animal. Once charmed, your animal companion will travel with you whenever you have Charm Animal equipped.
Energy:5,6 Cast Time:10 Recharge:0

- Resurrection Signet ()
Resurrect target party member. You can only use this skill ring once per mission.
Energy:0 Cast Time:5 Recharge:0

the idea is to bring with us our pet and make it stronger with call of vitality and fertile season. with this 2 skill the pet will have +606health , +24 armor, -9dmg reduction. in addiction to this it will be able to do a feral lunge, this skill is very nice for his 18 sec bleeding. troll unguent is one of my favourite skill and is very usefull. ress signet is for bringing allies to life and the 2 bow attack are for direct damage with the bow. this build should go against caster to daze them and make them bleed.
any suggestion is welcome!

ps: the secondary class is necro because im r/n, but it doesnt matter, i am not going to take any skill from it

if u want to be an all out Beast Master... why do u have points in Markmanship? ... u'll be filling ur bar with Pet Attacks and Pet Shouts...

If anything I would drop the bow attacks to add in the pet haste, and maybe a defensive skill for yourself. Or of course, ress pet.

I think a heavy pet build will be hard, bacuse you can't control your pet all that easily.

What do pets do you when you die in a pvp game? do they keep attacking even after their current target dies?

The pet has an anti skill and an anti spell attack. Of course the problem is unlike a straight attack your pet has to move to the target, making their efficiency at ability denial questionable.

Witha different secondary I could see it working better. Something like mes. So you lock down your target while your pet eats them alive.

i didnt know that fertile affected EVERYTHING, this is not so good -.-''
as a regards the markmanship skill tree: just to be not totally useless, i put in some 2 nice skill who can really help (according to my poor experience)
the rez for the pet should be a must choice for this build but i will lose 8 sec for the dead of the pet and after ressing it another 8 second (if im not wrong) but anyway i can drop the res signet for it
i can also drop fertile season (that w/mo with +403 health is not good) for haste and concussion shot for whirling defense
when i will be able i will try this build but now im not so sure that it will work...
thx anyway for the help

i had a brief play around with a pure beast master last night; the problem is you either go just expertise and beast mastery, leaving yourself totally useless damage-wise and also unable to heal yourself well, or you spread points between all 4 ranger attributes, leaving you with so-so damage on everything. It could work nicely, but it seems to me it would work best as a one on one tactic, rather than fighting groups.

shame, coz i really wanna get this build to work. who knows. i'll probably play around with it a bit more at some point.

Most ignore the pet so survivability of the pet isn't quite as important, as long as you have the res/heal up.. I'd say focus more on damage.

I wouldn't say its impossible to make a good beastmaster build that isnt totally beastmaster. You're limiting what you can have on the bar but stick to a few of the best beastmaster skills and one or two really effective bow attacks that'll match it. The build you have seems more of a support build, a couple interrupts for casters.. but its possible to have some really effective fast-killing builds with the right skill line-up...

If you do go beastmaster though, marksman should be secondary... your bow takes a sideline to the pet. You should have enough skill to use a good bow, but aside from that, leave it alone. Also, in my opinion, wilderness survival is extremely important for any ranger, if just for troll unguent...
