Attribute Chart
Chappy
I have been playing Guild Wars for a few weeks now, and I'm still a little confused about Attribute Points. I know what they do, but I just get confused when i see charts with Attibute and Point costs. Like in the manual it has the chart, and I get confused, Attribute lvl. 2 is like Point cost 3 or some weird crap. Someone help me.

I don't have the chart in front of me, but here goes. Each attribute has a max of 12 levels, and to increase the levels you have to have enough attribute points to do that. To raise from level 0 to level 1 requires exactly 1 attribute point. To raise from level 1 to 2, requires 2 attribute points...and so on. As you try to level up your attribute higher and higher, it's going to cost more and more attribute points. The third column in the chart simply represents the culmative or total attribute points you used to get to that specific level. For example to reach level 2, you would've spent 3 attribute points (1 attribute point to go from level 0-1, and 2 attribute points to go from level 1-2). Hope this helps you out.

So it costs 3 att. pts to go to lvl 2, and you only get a change in skill results when it reaches a new lvl?

Right it cost 3 att. points to go to level 2 from level 0 (like I said, 1 point to go to level 1 from level 0, and 2 points to go to level 2 from level 1). Raising attributes does effect certain skills. When you mouse over a skill, the very last part of the description tells you what attribute effects that skill. Also, certain items can help you raise attributes (ie a ranger's mask that has +1 Markmanship) as well.

Good luck in customizing your character...don't forget there's a max of 20 levels and thus attribute points are limited. And don't forget there are refund points to use if you change your mind later on and want to redistribute your points.
