There are a few but very well balanced classes in this game. However, Id like to see more. I dont know what kind of classes that can be added that will give the game more depth and still keep it balanced, but here are a few that I think would be interesting.

Illisionist - makes it appear that there is more or less party members than there are. Makes players team look like opposing team. etc etc.

Summoner/shapeshifter - Can summon and control a varity of beast/monsters/spirits that can tank or nuker or etc. Can shapeshift into beast/monster/spirit to much of the same.

assasin/ninja/rouge - nimble, low armor close range combatant that can use stealth skills and attacks mostly to add illments and not damage. (can set traps like ranger)

Post your wish list of new classes you think would me cool here.

I don't really have any additions, but re-assurance.

GW's has stated that with more expansions, their will be more skills, and more classes.

No guild ;_;

i think that bleu mages would be cool.
they only learn skills by stealling them from monsters and other players.
so you can get a good necro skill and a warrior skill and still have room for some mesmer skills.

You know how many of these threads have been made?
And that the game has just come out?

Kind of a good idea, but one problem.

How would your attribute points stack up, and how could you prevent this character from becoming disgustingly overpowered? Steal the right skills and you'd have no weaknesses.

Monks help with defencive buffs. How about some skills or a class thats is offensive minded for the team. Some class that is really good at getting the team offensive buffs? Maybe a druid class or something can do this?

A fencer/thief class - nimble and hard to hit close range fighter that can hit fast, but not as hard. Can also hit a target making it drop a portion of its gil into the teams pockets. (small portion that increases after use on target, but the skill is spamable, making it effective only if its ignored)
This class could be balanced by making him a good fighter when planted with an evasive stance for combat, and can flee battle well for defence, but maybe isnt as good or is more vunirable when fighting opponts on the move unlike a ranger or a warrior.

Or crossbow archers.

Balance: Ton of damage - Really long re-fire times(gotta wind it up back) and can only fire in a straight line.

*edit*

Nevermind, bad idea. There's a ton of secondary skills that speed of attack rates, so you'd just have a fast high damage.

How about a melee character based on speed, like a rogue

high attack speed (higher than sword etc)
use of daggers
low damage output
skills to evade attacks/block spells
skills to run faster
weak (light weight) armor

attributes like:
Attack speed (primary)
Dagger Mastery
Evasion
Blocking

Kiss that block and evade attacks/spells not 100% succesful and only last for a short while

with the idea of getting behind the enemy lines (warriors, rangers) to take out the casters and/or monks

If they add new classes which can mix with the already existing classes, then the character combinations possible will go through the roof. This would probably make it extreamly hard to balance everything.

I'd like to see new chapters with different races which have there own sorts of casters/interuptors/warriors/ect. Then the programers wouldn't have to worry about as many balance issuses, and there would be a lot of IMO neat new classes that could be made. Primary and secondary classes could be set to only mix within the same race. ok i'm just a big fan of multi race games, and I think it could be a possibility with all the "uncharted" world still left to be seen. hehehe ok maybe i'm dreaming.

I can imagine Anet adding something like "prestige" classes in D&D in an expansion. It would be pretty cool. For example Warrior/Necros could open up further "dark knight" type skills etc. Also it would change your appearance slightly yada yada yada.

Spears. Theres a lot of impressive weapon designs in this game. I would REALLY like to see a Spear skill set/character.

Pssst. Lots of people work on new class ideas, I am too (in some considerable detail, I know how to write a real design document and not just ask for things.). Going to post finished ones I thought up later, and I'm sure the devs of GW have some good ideas too.
