Wich Class?

Hi there!

I just bought Guild Wars. I've been thinking about wich class i will choose, but i still dont really know yet. This is my plan:

I want to be a mesmer. Are they good? Can they have animals? They look cool anyway . But i also want to be real good in PvP. Wich is best for PvP? I have been thinking about mesmer/necro, but maby it isnt very good.

Wich is the best classes for PvP and fighting?

I've also heard that warrior/monk is real good for PvP. It sounds cool to. Are girls warriors the same good as mens warriors? Because i really want to be a female. It's cool, but maby they are weaker than males in the warrior class.

Please help me!

sex only affects your looks and the emotes. (it may also impact some npc dialogue but nothing else)

Mes/nec is great for pvp for shutting down the skills of your opponents. Not really a damage dealer more of a person who controls the flow of the battle by forcing the other teams hand.

rangers have pets.
Necros have minions
pets level up and don't degenrate
minions fall apart over time and are not "permanent" like a ranger pet.

Ok. So maby i'll choose mesmer/necro. I thought mesmers were the ones with pets.

But how about warrior/monk? Is it good in PvP? It seems good, because you make much dmg and can heal yourself.

In short, yes W/Mo is good... very good (especially using smite believe it or not, not heals), but it is NOT the end all, be all, and most Necros (especially Warrior Necros and most Mesmers) should be fine against them.

play what ever you want to.. the main think that makes a character strong in pvp, or pve, is the person playing.

Mesmer/Necromance is one of the best class combo's in the game. I highly recommend it.

Keep in mind, however, it is much more useful for PvP than PvE (depending on your build.) But it is all kinds of fun to play.

I have a final quistion though:

Is mesmer/necro good?

I want animals too man... Maby Ranger/Monk... Man there are so many combinations...

Are rangers good in PvP and PvE?

Rangers are often considered the jack of all trades. But, technically speaking, any character could be good. It's all a matter of what you enjoy playing the most.

Remember as a Mesmer/Necromancer you will still get ALL the Necromancer skills to use. (Animate Bone Horror, etc.) The only difference is that instead of Necro armor and Soul Reaping, you will have Mesmer armor and Fast Cast.

The only thing your primary class determines is your armor and primary stat.

You could go ran/nec if you are pet happy...

That would be the pet class and the minion class.

You might even be able to find some way to exploit your pet after creating a minion from it. Or otherwise using the corpse of your pet. (and then raise it)

ANY necro will be good in PvP, given the player behind it. Ranger necros are fun, very defensive and hard to kill and have lotsof pets/minions to help you. Much better in PvE I would surmise though, but still...

It does take a bit to learn your role and how to play it well, but in the end, you could say this about ANY profession and combos, since every profession, and even every skill has a counter .
