Are 40% axes worth the money?

As of 12:24 EST, axe grips are currently at 100k +3 ectos, which is high enough, but 2 of them? honestly i dont think it is worth the money anymore. luckily i was able to but 2 for 45K ea yesterday. But considering the number of people who know the trick already, i really dont think the axe will be worth much after it is nerfed. Another comment i think they will nerf the idea on stacking. Take a green item for instance. there are some out there with 2 +5 armorupgrades, which gives +10 armor/ But i believe once Anet gets done with the axes, even if you have 2 of the same upgrades on it, they wont stack. so 20% + 20% = 20%.

Axes and everything to do with them seem to be rare all of a sudden.

well, the greens you're talking about are totally legit.... the "+10 armor+ is a "+5 Defensive Staff head" and a "+5 staff wrapping of defense".... however, the +40 enchant axe is, of course, glitched as you can use two of the SAME mods on it

How much are 19% going for? For that matter, get two of those axes, mod one with two lesser ones and be content with it. Just save the second one for when you get two 20% later. If I can take two non-perfect upgrades and make them into something better than a perfect one then I'd go for it.

right NOW you can use 2 of the same mods on it but i was just thinking of a way they will nerf it. any other thought on how they willl nerf it?

They haven't really nerfed items as is my understanding. There are still HoD swords, weapons with +% damage with no negative modifiers... but who knows, since this really does seem like a bug and should be fixed.

in the past people who abused exploits have been banned or suspeneded.

they didnt nerf the actual sword, they just took it out. Taking the axe out is a gimme. but i have a feeling they will do a little more then just take it out, especially if it starts messing with PvP

I think it will be a full removal, not just a removal in getting it..
Why? Because it effects pvp / pve balance!
Monks can get 70% longer on their enchantments.... eles can maintain a constant obsidian flesh... IW can be maintained with only 3 seconds of down time...
The posibilities are endless! I don't think it's fair to all the pvp people and.. mmm..
it's not so much an exploit, look at all of the items from ascalon collectors. Most have two of a [second part] upgrade [ie: grip], the axe is just the nicest because it allows you have an offhand so you can still have decent energy.
Why? Because it effects pvp / pve balance!

true, but isnt that unfair to the people who spent loads of money on it? i dont think it would be right to take it away from everyone b/c some ppl are spending 300k on the grips. if they take it away then ppl might stop playing cause they just blew their entire life savings
