Well I was set on interupting people and causing annoyance in PvP and modified my "The pest" build into a super cocharoach like being
Build Template:
Inspiration magic--7
Expertise--16
Wilderness survival-- 9
marksmanship-- 9
**Note I used Superior expertise rune and minors for Wilderness and Marksmanship.
Equipment doesnt matter other than a full set of druids and a good bow.
Profession: Ranger/Me
Name: "Super Pest"
Type: CompetitivePvP
Category: Interupter.
Skills Set
1: Serpents quickness
2: Choking gas
3: Called shot
4: Pin down
5: Spirit Shackles
6: Ether Feast
7: }Escape{
8: Rez
Summary:
My original goal was to piss casters off with my original Pest build but this takes it to the edge for me since it combines maximum survivability and the ability to piss any class off in a match.
1: First select monk or caster or whoever and pop Serpents Quickness as it is the backbone of this build.
2: Then hit you Choking gas and keep it prepped as need as it will almost always be there as needed.
3: I chose called shot as my fast attack skill cause it is low mana and is quite fast and cannot be evaded or blocked giving it a big edge in my eyes for those stance users.
4: Pin Down should need no introductory as it keeps warriors off my back and away from where they should be helping there team. Tanks are bad business for archers so be quick to use this skill and they are no sweat most of the time.
5: Finally down to what makes this build a real threat to anything on the field. I chose the Spirit Shacles skill because it recharges fast which is what I was seeking in attack type skills and it costs next to nothing for one of the best disruptive skills in the game.::
:: Nearly all classes except a good necro with fast drain run away when I drop this bomb and I do it often. If the Necro doesnt see you and drain you dry first then he is in deep poo poo if you choose to use this on him. Btw I HATE necros cause they drain me dry if they are a good build.
6: Ether feast did not stick out to me at first, but with its fast recharge time and huge instant heal it is faster and more effective than troll ungeant could ever be for this build and it's typically ready any time you need it.
::It allows you to heal anywhere anytime you have an unsuspecting enemy nearby. They lose 3 mana in 2 seconds and you gain over 90 hp countering any damage most any single attacker could do to you. used along with the Spirit Shackles the enemy has alot to worry about as they are attacking you while you heal yourself making up for the damage quickly and most people simply run away or get killed in the process by me or another teamate.
7: Escape.....o how I love thee
This skill seems like a no brainer but I was using the Whirling defense skill as they are almost the same and both is amazing to have but I found myself not outrunning tanks like I should be and keeping mobile so I would not get swarmed. Again the recharge is also faster and this skill is ready when you need it 90% of the time. Unbeatable for kiting and making arses out of attackers with no counter.
8: Rez as this is PVp and it often decides who wins.
My Opinion: This build seemed unlikely to work at first but as I used it I realized it is everything I wanted and more except for the fact that I cannot have the Dibillitating elite shot along with the Escape. I feel that the Elite version of pin down would perfect this build but alas I cannot part with Escape.
Credit:*I just made this today so I take partial credit as I never saw this anywhere before so if someone patented already they know what its about hehe.
Try it and post back but make sure you learn to use the skills to counter everything thrown your way and interupt wherever you can to truly appreciate this build.
I dont want suggestions on other skills that could do a better job at whatever you might like to do.
:You can modify it obviously:

Well I have been playing this build for the last 24 hours straight and it is fun as hell.
maybe I can finally set my schedule back to days...so tired anyways to the point then.
Ok the build could benefit from a little more dmg maybe one more in marksmanship if if doesnt kill the Spirit shackle duration....your choice.
Also if you remove pin down you can throw in whirling defense for near unlimited 75% chance to not be hit.
My name in game on the American servers is "Das Pest" so drop a line if ya like the build and want to share tips or ideas I am on alot lately.
Other than that I would not change a thing about this build and I did try it without escape to use the Elite skill crippling shot and it was pretty lame with out have the fast recharging escape to keep me near invulnerable through a match.
So on these notes I rescend my call to not offer examples to make this more effective but I do suggest you try it first.
takes several rounds to get used to but once you get the hang of it it rocks any class really if used with a good team.
Happy hunting and if anyone wants to sell my poor noob arse a decent bow...or maybe donate one hehe I am using cookie cutter crap.

A build that can do nothing particularly well but run around, and interrupt long cast spells? Wow gg. At least you brought a res I suppose.

I would imagine that most of you critics have been in the game a long while and know what works and what doesnt so do your cookie cutter builds and iway or imax or whatever its called and if you ever have the hankering to just piss people off then use this build.
Judging by the depth of your analysis you havent bothered to try the build out like the other guys who responded to the same build post in Ranger section.
Maybe it is best to do just one thing really well but I like versatility and survivability in my ranger not just to spike dmg one or two guys and then get smoked by anything with legs.
This build is for pick up team play its not intended for controlled strategies like people use in tombs. It is however good for the pickup pvp zones where many people dont have the luxury of saying they have a build that perfectly suits their intentions and is highly effective at many many more things than simply "interupting long cast spells".
I dont know about you but while I am going toe to toe with a caster or tank I would like to not only live through it I am gonna make the other guy either run away or become extremely inneffective so that if I need help its nothing for a person who has that damage or uber interupt to come sweep up the mess.
If a warrior wants to come chase me fine but I can say most of them will go limping back to the fight and be useless to their team for a good portion portion of the fight. While they are standing their wacking away at me accomplishing next to nothing whilst I am interupting a caster or drawing a rangers attention.
Also I can drop what I am doing at any time to go to the aid of an ally with a rez or a pin down or simply tank two or sometimes three people while my teamates close in.
I have seen so many players go down from this builds actions that its just the most efficient way for me to help out in a fight.
Its not complicated and I am not ever "doing to much".
The Spirit Shackle skill is technically an interupt skill for all you geniuses out their who did not look closely enough. I can stand outside a fight and drop it on 2-3 people very quickly meaning their damage potential and survivability goes way down especially hybrid warriors who cast. one or two interupts on them easily tips the scales to my allys side.
I know all you higher lvl guys only want the Best of the best for one particular task. But this build is pretty well balanced and i am not a skilled player yet but I have improved so much with this build that other builds I have tried just dont cut it for me.
So once again dont knock it till you try it and leave it to us "noob" build people to enjoy.
Its earning me faction and more skills so screw it.

I tried this build just now in CA and i found that all i was doing was to throw on Spirit Shackles on everyone and using Escape to run away from them. Unfortunately not all your opponents are rangers or warriors, so this spell becomes useless 60% of the time.
My Choking Gas runs out so quickly that i hardly use it at all. I can't interrupt Reversal of Fortunes without an increase attack-speed stance (i was using a shortbow)
Ether feast gave me too little health to work with. My Opponents pound me into dust immediately.
SQ, Called Shot and Pin Down are useful.
So in the end, the build has many skills that can't be used at all, and in order to play this build at all you have to run away and go 'nyahahahha" ALL the time.
main summary:
this is a kiter build. obviously warriors go after it, and you cripple and wear him out. HOWEVER you deal too little damage in the first place, and a smart warrior will move to another target.
Well, actually you don't do enough damage or disruption to anyone, and you can't survive in a one-to-one fight unless you run (which they turn it into a 3-4).
In the end, you are left against 4, and this build turns into a griefer build.
Much improvements can be made, but since you don't want anyone to tell you how to, whatever.

omg somone actually bothered to try it!
Yeah maybe you guys are right or maybe its just not your style.
Either way I am happy with it and I guess I will leave it at that.

You should drop Escape for Signet of Midnight. It'd be a huge improvement over the current build you posted.
Kabale
Drop Choking and bring interrupts that actually deal damage (Punishing shot, savage shot). Whirling is enough to annoy warriors and give your monks plenty of time to heal u up. As long as you interrupt any casters, you only have to worry about warriors/rangers when your whirling runs out..
tekeen
Yeah I dont even play that build anymore as i am into the ranger/warrior combo these days but The Pest was still pretty fun and more than capable.
