Question on item enhancements
Arkayne
I have a question, I'll make it specific to my circumstances to make it easier. Also sorry if this has already been posted somewhere, but I don't really know the proper terminology so I didn't find much when searching
Basically I have a Barbed Rinblade of Charrslaying. It increases bleeding length on foes and does extra 25% damage to Charr. I also have acquired some sword hilts and pommels, such that add armor, earth damage, and one that increases enchantment length by 10%. When I go to apply one of these to an item, it tells me that it will replace the old upgrade. Since I have never added one of these items to my sword, does that mean it will replace one of the magical properties? Or will all the properties stay intact, and in addition add the effects of the hilt/pommel? Thanks!

If it is warning you that it will replace something, then yes, you will lose some form of enhancement.
Jackell
If your sword pommel already does something, and you put a new pommel on it, you'll loose what the pommel did.
The trick when, upgrading is to know which upgrade is connected to which component.

Can you put a hilt and pommel on the same sword and have both effects??
Also have 2 other questions, and I'll put them in here too
1. Res signet, says you can only use once per mission. But sometimes I find I am able to use it more than once. Any circumstances it can be used twice or is it a bug?
2. When an item says it requires a certain level skill (such as +4 armor Requires 5 strength) or something, what happens if you don't have the 5 strength? What bonus do you get? I used chakrums that require certain skills I didn't even have, and all I know is that I get half the energy it says. Such as, +6 energy, requires 5 Illusion Magic, I will get +3 energy (since I'm a warrior).

Pommel is another word for Hilt. So they are they same type of upgrade.

You probably bought that sword off someone else, am I right? So whomever had it before you applied a pommel to it to increase it's value.
Lasher Dragon
Actually, I used that exact sword for quite a while. Got it off a collector.

Yeah I got it off a collector, it has no previous enhancements. Does anyone know for sure if the pommel/hilt will overlap each other?

It was a party of three. Me another guy and a hench healer. We got a bad pull at a boss location, and the healer went down 1st. I resed her with the signet, and she kept us up for a while. Then she died again, then the other guy croacked so I run to drag some off that spot. Well, only two followed out of spell range, so I whacked them, healed up and moved back in. I killed the rest of the casters, among them a day-glo boss.
I was thinking about zoning us when I realized that my signet was lit once again. Dunno if it was the morale boost from the boss, or just a lucky break, but that was my experience with it.
Arkayne
Yeah sounds familiar. Hmm I wonder if it is the morale boost, thanks for the tip, maybe I'll look into that

Arkayne
Nice! Very interesting, thanks for the info.
There's tons of undocumented little features like that in this game, that makes it frustrating, and fun to discover all at the same time. I still would like to know about these item enchantments though, and about the requirements for certain skill levels if anyone has the answers.

static deathbringer
also i beleive they made it so signets recharge after 10-15 min for the rez sig, or you get a morale boost
Arkayne
Thanks for the replies all.
