Pvp 1v1 VS maps
free_xbox
here are a few M$PAINT renditions of versus maps
this would give primary profession characters a chance to PVP in their own element or 1v1
rolling river is situated in a small "lyssa dedicated" community, here the pseudo swashbucklers duel eachother on a spinning treelog, if at a point in time when a competitor loses energy he falls off the log and takes a dip in the river
the heroe's library is where elementalists practice showing off their spellblasting skills... mana generator stones keep nearby sorcerers refreshed to finish off their opponents with extreme prejudice
this great graveyard is the final resting place of both the honorable warriors of balthazar and the deviant worshippers of grenth.. here 2 necromancers face off using open graves as bone spawns and caldron traps to release either poison or holyfire on their opponents... the 2 statues regenerate the opponents both in mana (grenth) and health (balthazar)
the ancient's trail is where rangers face off competing in the gauntlet
the objective is to beat the other ranger to the end using whatever they can to win... including shooting off traps and disabling their foe's mobility
premade traps line the ground... falling rocks... quickshot target practice is used for both point gaining, trap setting (vs foes) as well as opening doors to go through further parts of the long race... a wellrounded ranger is required to fully make it through the extremely deadly and dangerous trek

the chute is the fighting ring of warriors everywhere
this is a true 1v1 test of strength and superiority
things are packed kinda close and tight so mobility is nolonger an issue
and there is no room for cowards
random blinding dustpiles and bleeding spikes line the chute where the warpigs are slaughtered daily
the circle is a test of both faith and endurance
2 monks normally wouldn't face off against eachother.. .but as 4 blind heretics of grenth are tied to suffering posts... monks must individually face the alluring pleasure of seeing necros die... or submit to the true voice of dwayna and spend their energies keeping even their natural enemies alive
as an added bonus of humility...
the suffering spreads because the necros are not one to take this test lightly
they randomly set off their own punishment against the monks who line the circle....
the first monk to lose his 2 prisoners/sufferers and or himself is the loser
the amount of pain gradually increases as more time ellapses
awesome sauce
lol, looks nice dude. I like the idea of not mixing races, otherwise monks would pwn all
Bane of Mortality
There's no way I believe you did those in paint. NIce job man.

very nice , matching same professions for 1vs 1 sounds good , even second profession should be matched ...
but i agree also with free choice , by user choice , EX : i am a ele/me if i want to fight a w/mo , i should be able .. and also , if a mo/w want to fight me , i should be able to say , sorry not with this char , let me change to my monk , and we go take care of that ...

nice idea, but I think there is maybe one negative point:
Where do the beast masters battle?
Where do the mesmers battle who do not drain energy?
Where do the smiters battle?
What I am trying to say is that these 'battles' are only used for the common usage of professions.
I mean, a smiter would stand no chance against a combo of healing and protection I think, would (s)he?

people talk about 1vs1 batles as if everyone had the same speed and tecnic of casting skills , its true some builds dont give any chance to others , but we must not forget that its humans playing , casting speed , sequence of skills , armor , runes etc etc , also count.
my experience in CA tells me there is no obvius winner ever , i have killed many times W/mo with my E/me ... go figure.

These are nice but what about the other people who don't use what the proffession normally uses.
actionjack
niffty drawings..
DreamCatcher
I'd like an option of 1 vs 1 like where i could challenge a guildy or a friend so we can test skills or just for the heck of it.
I think the gaundlet is a very fun idea

Hey wait a minuite what about the assassin thats coming out soon!
free_xbox
assuming the assassin will be about speed, stealth and secrecy/detection
then i presume it will also take on a chinese/japanese appearance
i'm thinking an ancient and poorly lit room lined with gigantic (buddhalike) jade/golden statues which bear demonic visages...
these statues provide both a maze(such as shifting around to form walls)
and ambush points if the assassins run out of energy to maintain their invisibility
in the eye of night... the assassins must prove their worth by successfully beating their opponent in retreiving the sacred "cup"... naturally using stealth and avoidance to ignore the detection of the allseeing eyes...
once inside the maze, they remember that the game of death is alot like a game of chess... besides the pawns moving about proving for a sharp and painful obstacle... here they also find the six statue stalkers (one of each of the different classes) who hunt them as if they themselves were the prey... these statues are hard to kill but give you some golden loot if you manage a solo...
but do not act too foolishly...
it is always best to avoid them and go for the gold cup at the end
first one to reach the middle of the maze wins... if two contestants meet together.. then a final duel to the death is insisted
