Can Someone tell me what this error is?

To make your job easier, just reformat the PC and be done with it, no need to keep trying to kill massive amounts of virus and what not, just format the PC and install GW and be done with it. You shouldn't use IE either due to the amount of worms and spyware leaks it has.

Im just wondering how much RAM you are using in the system. I have gotten that error before, and have seen other programs get "corrupted" not due to a virus, but due to a bad RAM chip that was unable to read and write correctly. I do have some suggestions on Antivirus software as well, Grisoft makes a free edition of virus scan that I recommend, in my experience in using it, it has found several trojans, and virus that Norton and PCillin cant find. The Program is called AVG. Also, use antispyware programs like Spybot, Adaware to remove spyware. These programs are free of course. Here at the shop we recommend that you use at least 256mb RAM for Windows Xp Home or Pro, and if you are using their Office Products, minimum of 512 mb of RAM. In order to test your RAM chip if you dont have access to a testing unit, look up a program called the Ultimate Boot Disc, it has just about every diag tool made on it, including Burn in tests, RAM tests, and GWScan. And Most importantly, make sure you back up everything on your computer at least once a month, if not more.

I did buy a Extra chip a while ago, but just recently Ive been getting these problems, should I take it out and see if that helps any? Also I use Opera instead of IE. The came to my attenchion recently but I dont know how to fix this.

ok. Heres what I would do, the maker of your computer, whoever it is, Dell, HP, Gateway, they should have specs detailing what clock of RAM, the speed, on their website. You should be able to access it by going through their support link, and typing in the service tag. If you built the system, then take both RAM chips out, and compare them, make sure the speed is the same, make sure the clock is the same. If the chips are different it can cause the page file to become corrupted, especially if the clocks are different. If infact they are different, depending on how long ago you bought the RAM chip from, you can possibly take it back tell them you have a compatablity issue, and see if you can get a replacement or your money back.

Its a downloadable ISO that you burn as an image and boot into. Under I believe Mainboard tools, or Other tools should be a program called RAM check or RAM verify, its a software RAM checker pretty much. Also if you need some sites to look at buying RAM from, www.ajump.com sometimes has great deals, www.newegg.com is better in my opinion, and www.kahlon.com also sells RAM based on the type of machine(Dell,Gateway,HP,etc.) and you can get specific RAM types from them.

The picture you posted is telling me the system is having trouble installing the software for your monitor. Sometimes Montiors will come with a Driver CD, like the Dell Flat Panels, if yours did, then try installing the drivers from the CD, if not go to the manufacter and see if they have drivers avaiable. If not, then right click on the device, go to properties, and try updating the driver. If that doesnt work try rolling the driver back.

The program on the Ultimate Boot disc that can check your RAM is called Memtest v3.33. Just had a machine fail that we could use it on.

What about the type of exe errors I am getting? Would it just be easier to reformat as dimirpaw said or would the RAM problem fix this also?

Ok Ill be simple, if your system does have a RAM error or an imcompatable chip, the chances are that system files etc, have been corrupted. If thats the case then formatting and starting over would be ideal. But what we want to make sure of is that its not a RAM error before you format and start over, because you will end up back at this point. Im sorry if I was confusing, but yes formatting will probably be the end result, Im just trying to make sure this wont happen to you again. Also when handling RAM and other PC boards, make sure you either are in an ESD compliant room, or you have an ESD wrist strap on.

I am downloading UBCD but the mirror is extermley slow, so im looking for a diffrent one. Also would it be better just to take out the extra chip? If the chip is imconmatable or corrpted then reformating would be the best, if thats not the case, what would that mean and how would you fix that?

What I would do first is Format the PC because of those bad virus alone, being so much and all. Then test to see if GW is working right, if it isn't then your going to have to do what the other people said about ram.

Is there something I should do before reformating, like back up some files or what? And what should I do to reformat, just reinstall windows (Sry not good with computer terms) .

Just save all the stuff you want to a disk, RW if you can so you can use it again. Then if you have backup disks, or whatever you got, put them in then reboot. When your pc is at the start of rebooting a black screen will show up asking you what you would like to do. Such as Format, ect...

I however greatly suggest if you have any doubt on how to do this, or back up files ask someone first.

Well I do have many songs to back up, and I ran out of cds...so I was wondering if theres any websites that let you back up online. Also is the reformating simple or complicated?

About the UBCD, i ran it and it extracted some files but thats all it did so Im not sure what to do with that.

UBCD should have come in a .zip file, when you extract it, you should get a .iso file or an image. You use your burning software, Nero, Sonic Record Now, or Roxio to burn the .iso file as an image, their should be a option in your burning software. Being as you have ran out of discs, this probably wont help you at this point in time. As far as using websites to store your files, what I do is use my gmail account(They just uped the space to almost 3 gig) and I email files to myself, but rename them as the .jpeg extension so that gmail doesnt recognize them as a malicious file or executable.

I just found this, instead of using the 124mb UBCD file, if you have a USB Flash Drive or a Floppy disc, go to http://www.memtest.org/#downiso and you can download the latest Memtest that can be booted off of the USB flash drive, Floppy or CD rom, depending on which media you have. The download will have instructions as to how to make a bootable floppy for the program. Sorry about the confusion. But your best bet would be to do what the other guy said, is to format, reinstall see if everything works fine, but be warned, if the RAM has a compatablity issue, or is corrupt, your going to have to rebuild the system again without the problem RAM.
