Hell's Precipice

I'm bored and have run out of games to play. I've trying to find one I haven't played in a while to fall back on. I haven't been on Guild Wars since shortly after the Sorrow's Furnace update. So...how's the community doing?

1. How's the economy? Any important changes? Do people still trade with gold coins? What "uber" items that aren't really needed are people drooling over now?

2. Do enough people still play PvE to make PvE enjoyable?

3. Are PUGs still terrible? (as if I have to ask...but there's always hope!)

4. I've skimmed the various update notes, but is there anything that really stands out that I should know about?

5. Has anyone else left for a few months and came back to enjoy the game again (as actually enjoyed it)?

6. Are the missions generally still the same? Any of them made harder or easier?

7. Did I forget to ask something?

8. Anyone remember me?... No?!

1. Economy is still a little screwed up. People are still drooling over the greens.

2. I have stopped playing PvE since the SF update. PvP is where most people are now. If you want to do PvE dont try in the morning. NOBODY does PvE then.

3. Sorry, never really figured out what a PUG was. :P

4. If you where there for the SF update you're fine. Necros did finally get their tormentors armor.... Oh yeah, AoE spells now scatter enemy mobs, so lots of farming builds are nerfed now.

5. I haven't stopped playing it since I got the game in the early summer

6. Missions are the same. Some bugs (such as the THead door glitch) have been fixed. A few quests have been changed. (Undead Hordes is WAY harder than it used to be)

7. Hmmm...nope. DOnt think so.

8. ......

I'm kinda in the same boat you're in. I only played again during the Holloween thingy, and a little after but have been MIA in Guild Wars for a while. Kinda bored right now. Is there something happening for Christmas? And yes, I remember you.

Game is only what you make of it.

I got bored, then decided to set goals for myself.

Right now, I have two goals - unlock every single skill via PvE, and Get 15K armor for all of my characters (six).

Right now, I've completely unlocked two characters (warrior and ranger). I am 6 skills away from my Monk. Only need a couple more for the other professions. One I am furthest from is Ele - but only because most of the skills are simply worthless and I find it harder to get motivated to pay or cap them.

I've also gotten 3 sets of 15K armor, Ranger, Warrior and Necro. I have more than enough cash for another set, but can't decide between Mesmer, Ele or Monk - all three remaining's 15K armors don't look much different from their 1.5K counterparts, so I can't decide what to do next.

I don't give a crap about FoW armor, so that's not a goal I'm going to set for myself.

Those two goals will probably tide me over until Chapter 2.

Thanks for the replies. After playing Civ4 for awhile it's so nice to play a game that loads and exits almost immediately. I never realized how much I missed that until I played Civ4.

Figures. Oh well, I already have all the gold and junk I need.

Pathetically Underachieving Group...or as most people seem to refer to it as: Pick-Up Group. You know, a group of random strangers that generally fail even the most simple tasks.

Good to know. I'm not a big farmer so I don't really mind that part.

That's about the time I bought it. I may have continued playing but I always ended up playing alone (my fault for not wanting to be in a guild though) and I got rather bored of that. Henchmen are not great conversation carriers.

Nice that the door was fixed. I hated being in groups that paused the mission just so that they can kill a couple of Jade Armors. If killing those guys really makes or breaks the mission then the group deserves to lose anyways.

#5: i left over the summer, and after coming back i love this game even more, so yeah, its possible! hehe. I think if you don't play it to death (that was my problem: "omg new game, must play every hour!") you'll continue to enjoy it now you're returning.

I'm thinking about getting the actual RP aspect of the game since I beat it many times and have the 15k armors. I didn't have the patience for FoW armor and I certainly won't have the patience now. 15k is fine for me! Hopefully I can renew my interest by going back to playing for fun. I got kind of bogged down in repetition like I did way back when in Diablo 2.

Yeah I tend to play games to death and then wonder why I'm losing interest. Then one day I'll pass on playing, then the next day I'll be too tired to play, then before I know it I haven't played for 3 months.

If you can find a pug in the morning, the ability of the players are generally much higher than what you get in the afternoons and evenings.
