Ok, so I was a W/E before but decided to try W/Mo so I changed my proff in the dessert. Now I absolutely didn't know where to get Monk skills, I thought I would only get the basic skills (only heal...)
So, I was thinking... "How can I get those skills for my new second proff?"
And then, I found it, I went back to certain areas in Ascalon and I found some new quests. Monk quests. To learn new skills. But now there aren't anymore quests to do, so no Monk skills to learn.
I found the quests in Sardelac Sanitarium and close to and I found like 4 quests or something, but I only have a few skills now... Maybe 10?
Do I have to buy the other remaining skills now? Or can I learn them by doing quests and where?

If I buy a new skill now, it costs me more then 600gold, what If i bought 100 skills, the next skill will cost like 10k ??

That's what I've been doing the past couple days, taking my characters and swapping the 2ndary class, going back to Ascalon and doing the quests over.

Much cheaper way to get those basic skills, and then I just buy the vital skills I really want to use that you can't get from those early quests.

Now if I could just get a group to do the THK bonus w/ me I'd have almost everything completed.

what about the skills you would've gotten in pre?
do you have to buy those?

plus, I noticed that 2 different skill traders offered me the same bunch of skills --- is it some function of your level, or maybe the skills you already have?
at least, I think they did....

I think most of the skills you get in the beginning Ascalon quests are the same you get in pre, plus a few other new ones.

I haven't been able to check against guildwiki because its been down, but from my experience, you can get all the skills save for 2 that are listed by the Ascalon City skill trader.

I've found Piken Square, Sardelac Sanitarium, and Serenity Temple will give quests again.

Anyone found any others?

Question: What about the quests that give skills for all professions. You've already completed them for your old 2ndary profession. Can you do them again after you've changed profession?

im only aware of the the skill trainers in the ascalon area and yaks bend. There are no other skill trainers to give you quests.

Get skills from Lions Arch too. Thinking about it practically every small town has quests. Some give cash, and / or skills.

I don't think Icy Toothy Cave (that one in Anvil Rock area) and Maguuma Slade have quests. Grenlich Courthouse either. Granite Cithdal and M's Grotto.

But do go and check them anyway!

Dark Alley [dR]

I normally go back and complete some quests for free secondary skills. Then sincei like goign to fissure, ill take a new char there and get some easy exp and skill points to go buy cap sigs/skills to fill in the ones that i didnt get from quests.

this sounds like a shitty and poorly designed part of the game.

one of the parts I hate in any game like this, is accidentally skipping by an area and coming back to it when I'm higher level than I should be.
I just went through a bit like that in here, as a matter of fact.
every fight is completely pointless --- it's too easy.

I think it would suck to run your lvl 20 around in lvl 7-15 areas just to round up skills.

it would be cool if they could autobalance encounters/areas according to party strength.
