Which class fustrates you most as you play them?
Goonter
First off, before anyone gets the wrong idea please understand that Im not making suggestions to improve the game here. Im just making a gamers observation.
Agree or open my mind in how Ive gotten it all wrong, but please dont get defensive or build/counter-build happy while thinking your helping.
Elementists is a high risk/high reward class.
But sometimes Im not sure the reward is worth the risk.
Take for example, assuming attributes are maxed...
Searing Heat 25-3-30
5 secs of 31 fire damage and set on fire if in the area for 3 secs.
Symbol of Wrath 5-2-30
5 secs of 34 holy damage
With Searing Heat
1. You can cast it from a range.
2. People that dont leave the area are set on fire for 3 secs.
3. If you got an attunment up you get some energy back making it cost more like 17 energy.
But..wrath ignores armor and proably does more damage, at least in most senarios.
On paper (and in my experance so far) cost/risk vs. reward, Sybmol of Wraith is better on the field than Searing Heat.
Here are the most stand out pros of cons of elementists that I know of.
Pros:
-Left unchecked, elementist (like warriors) can take a target down quicker than anyone else.
-They can hit multibule targets for sizable damage with a large variaty of skills.
-Nice defensive spells for them or for team.
Cons:
-Respectably easier to counter elemental big hitting spike damage through protection spells than other forms of damage.
-All classes have AL vs elemental and in some cases very resistant to elemental damage.
-Elementist have to balance damage vs. longivity a little more heavily than other classes. (this meaning, you can choose to hit hard and sit out a bit or hit softer without losing as much momentum)
-Exluding warriors, overall elementist do not counter all other classes as effectively all other classes do.
-Elementist as well as Necros are begging for special attention from disruptors. However, necros frequently assist better in more situations than elementist, plus they are better suited to keep themselves alive.
There is nothing wrong with eles that you cant crossclass and fix or your teams cant cover you ass on (if its worth their troubles, so many priorites to consider in the heat of battle)
But as a pure class its really an underdog imo.
Id say warriors were, but they superior armor often gets them disabled more so than taken out by focused fire.
If anything else elementist have taught me the importance of formations.
Its pretty hard to be a backline caster hitting a called target when the opposition knows how to kite well.
Ive also found that mesmer players are increasingly better at pushing up to the backline, casting and fleeing than elementists, raising hell for casters in the back.
Though I know frontline elementists exsist, I havent seen it enough (outside of obsidian spike and warding, and 2 possiblities is rather light) to make me consider it being a strong part of the metagame.
But then...there is a lot I havent seen or thought of, like I said..Im open to enlightenment.
So, to answer my own question -
I think elementist are the most fustrating class to play. Warriors would be a close second.
Ive played both these classes and had plenty of shining moments. So I do enjoy the balance and all. I just find elementists fo be fustrating above the others.

My frustration: any spellcasting class that is not Mesmer.
I've been really really spoiled by fastcasting. While playing a mesmer you don't notice its effects, but maaaan, once you switch to elementalist or necro, etc., the spellcasting pace feels glacial. When two seconds feels like an eternity:
"Cast, c'mon, cast, aaargh, cast already! Stupid ele, he's outta range now!"

Hot Dead
Elementalist is my most frustrating class, really just because its easy to interupt them (long casting time), and they dont have a very large source of healing (no monk or necro with well of blood or well of power and you are dead)-aura of restoration wont do much because elementalist have a lot of downtime, so no health when that happens.
lg5000
Hehe, I have the same problem with casters that aren't my mes. Probably the reason I got rid of my ele now that I think about it.
Most frustrating class would be warrior though.. every other class can out-damage them, and yet, they're the ones with a close-range weapon who (in my opinion) should be doing more damage. And no, I'm not deleting my warrior, she's got a sup. absorbtion on her and can tank REALLY well I just don't like the fact that I don't do enough damage.

Morangen
I would say its either the Elementalist or the Mesmer for me (though I have not given the mesmer alot of time to really try it). Some of the elemental skills do seem over priced imo but elementalists are also one of my favorite classes because of the large amounts of energy you can get with energy storage and the damage that can be dealt.
Markaedw
The only charecter I don't like to play in PvE is mesmer, especially with henchies. While your dehexing your self the henchies stop fighting
Vilaptca
After only playing a Necro for so long, when I made a Ele, I had some trouble with energy management and casting spells that caused exhaustion frequently.

Monk. More specifically, protection monk.
People send blind invites since they're so desperate for a monk. I calmly explain to them that I'm using a protection build, not a healing build and then in the mission they ask "omgwtfbbqzorz y u no heal me???"
I find playing a monk (heal or prot) to be more frustrating than an ele...energy management is a lot tighter on a monk, and one screwup on your part can cause a party wipe

I'd have to say Warrior, simply on the account they are dull as dirt to play. Playing a Warrior is really a 3-step process: 1. Charge ahead of your allies. 2. Aggro everything from here to the next country. 3. Proceed to make sure you take every available hit while doing mediocre damage in return. IT'S BORING!!! At least the other classes have some sort of, no pun intended, class, and actually require brain functions to use effectively... I'm not saying the Warrior isn't a good class, it's perfect for doing exactly as it's specified: Tanking. That's it. Only problem is, every other class outshines it in everything else.
imaginary friend
hmmm yeah warrior with all the blind and spiteful spirit+empathy+insidious parasite
nunix
Monk. This is mostly because I hate healing people. Clingly, needy little players! Heal your own self! Take a henchman!
Aside from that.. Elementalist, I guess. I think this is personal preference, as there's not really proper -water- magic (just ice) and the spells just aren't my kind of flash. Plus their armor is freaking -ugly-. The base collector's set is okay, and the Fissure is good, but everything else? No damned thanks. (Yes, I'm shallow)

Your typical average (non-Whammo) warrior will do the initial part of aggroing the frontline monsters correctly, but they get too busy whacking them to notice what else is happening around them. often resulting in a couple of monsters finding their way to the casters and chopping them up. Honestly, I think the tank's job is the hardest. If they do their job properly, all casters need to do is spam spells.

Necro for me - i sometimes sacc myself to death ha.
But don't get me wrong - I love playing a Necro in all aspects (MM, battery, etc)

I dislike playing Elementalists the most. PvE is boring, and PvP is frustarating for reasons already stated. Elementalists are so straightforward.
Although my pure Mesmer isn't doing very well in PvP right now, it's still more fun even when I'm losing. I've gone through 4-5 different builds trying to find one that can work for me.

my first charactre was an elementalist and i loved to play it. Then i played a warrior and now mesmer. I love to play mesmer the most of all untill now. It allows you to be creatice with your skills at a level, unlik the other two charactres. It is alo the most frustrating class i played because i miss energy storage !! Every day with my mesmer i think....i wish i had energy storage
If ele was your first charactre, you think having 60-80 energy is normal, then if you play another caster you suddenly have to do energy-management other then regenerating. So maybe, the elementalist is not frustrating in itself, but it puts frustrations on other casters hahaha
Still, the mesmer is by far my favourite charactre

My most frustrating char was a warrior. I just didnt like the concept of going in and hitting something till it drops. I think i am the supporter guy, standing back and give support to those in need. Dont need to say that i have monk, necro, ranger and mesmer on my account

I've purposely tried all six main professions. The most frustrating for me is the monk. Specifically Healing Monk. You start off a battle with nothing to do and then all of a sudden you can't keep up. Yikes! The lack of offence doesn't work for me either.
Mesmer is frustrating from the point of view of so many skills no way to take them all.

Monk. Monk. Monk.
No question. None at all. Monk is, by far, the most frustrating class to play--but also the most fun and most rewarding.
99% of players take the party's monk(s) for granted. It's a simple fact. If I compared the number of 'heal plz's to the number of 'nice healing vanity!'s the ratio would be grossly imbalanced.
Not to say that it's all just work. When our party -does- manage to surmount some difficult obstacle, it's all worth it, knowing that I was just as important as everyone else in beating whatever it was.

The Yoink
Most frustrating is a warrior, especially when you're doing a mission (such as THK) with one or two other warriors in the group and one (or both) of the other warriors is a whammo...
earlier today, doing THK on my warrior with a PUG squad:
Me (after large battle): energy ok?
Monks/Ele/Necro: My energy is (insert small fraction, such as 12 energy out of 80)
Me: aight guys, let's chill a second
Whammo runs ahead into the next big group
Casters: WTF/WTH/etc...
It's actually embarrassing to be playing a warrior at times like that... whammos make people think of warriors as "big, dumb tanks" which isn't fair
on an unrelated note, by some miracle we beat the mission, so for the record if anyone comes across a monk in the RoF Islands claiming to be a protection monk, and finds out (too late) that their idea of "protection" is rocking a Fiery Dragon Sword and an Aegis (and the only friendly spell they use is a +7 Healing Breeze mainly for their use only) you can blame my group for bringin' 'em there.. after we finished (by the skin of our teeth, mind you) the monk said "Finally! I've been trying to beat this for weeks!"
... wonder why?

i dont really have any, but if i had to say i would go with warrior. I hate it when my warrior cant do anything to kill ppl who evade, block and or use a skill that minimizes my atk. I usually can handle them, but 3 or more frustrate me a lot.
Maxiemonster
Monk. Most people don't see when a monk's doing great, or sucking ass. Their thought are a simple as 'If noone dies, the monk is ok and if someone dies, he's useless'. Even if you healed your ass off during the whole missions, you never get compliments like 'Nice healing' though, if I let someone die, it's like 'OMFG, noob monk' 'Someone left the game'.
Elena
warrior... they never let you tank and take damage when you are built for it
Bane of Mortality
I find monk to be most frustrating. Since I use the mouse and not the keyboard (I probably should use this) I can't heal fast enough. Also, if someone dies and it wasn't even your fault, you always get the blame.

I agree with what someone said earlier about Monks getting blamed for every death. Monks are by far the hardest, I think. They're expected to keep all the noob eles/mesmers/other weak-armor classes alive when they think they're tanks.
I like playing my tank because its basically: select target, hit space bar, click a few damage skills (but mostly take the damage you're made for), switch windows, answer some IMs, grab some chips, take a drink, check back on the game......but with a monk you actually have to let your friends in the IMs be like 'OMG WHY ARENT U TALKING TO ME OMG U H8 ME OMG'.
So, in closing, being a monk ruins your social life. Or something

Warrior definatly more than my monk, although 90% of the time i get "hey good healing" the other 10% i get some whammo going "more heals please"
My answere to this is " less muck ups then please, no actually how about i just leave if you think im rubbish?" (what i love about being a monk is your the only one in a position to pull strings, nearly evertime i say this the rest of the group pipe up and tell the whammo to shut up)
Also there is a certian satisfaction (up to a point), when your in a rubbish PUG that agros everthing, dosnt call ect, and you get "wow good team", and i just think nope good monks.....
But i digress, anyway its def my warrior for things like this....
Useless warrior cant hold agro
erm, it would help if the ele (why is it always an ele) didnt keep racing ahead of me...............
Or my favorite
Stupid whammo why'd you agro them
Erm i didnt, the XXXX did (just like the monk except you get the blame for all agro EVEN IF your at the back of the group for some reason).

Arcanis the Omnipotent
I never got a monk out of Pre. I think the main problem most people have when playing them is that they are so used to the mentality that all your focus in battle needs to be pointed toward your foes. As a monk, all your attention needs to be on your party.
I also think playing a warrior is boring as F***. I went through 3 before I found one I even liked.

I've played all 6 classes up to the ring of fire in PvE and far and away the most frustrating for me to play is mesmer. At least 2 of the missions in kryta I even went along healing rather than using primarily mesmer skills just to get a place in any groups, and once I got around to the southern shiverpeaks I just wasn't going anywhere unless with thom, mhenlo and friends. You're forced to play the most challenging parts of the game in the most uninspiring way - it might as well not be an online game for my mesmer, which is sad as it's otherwise a lot of fun.
Barinthus
That's a shame really. Any classes are more than welcome to join my groups any time. Memsers totally rock as long players behind them know what they're doing.
heh, aron - I've used my position as a healer to mmmm gently guide groups toward objectives I want  And I'm not afraid about just quitting a group that has been abusive toward me. I totally cannot wait to get my hands on Unyielding Aura then you bet I will be using it to control rude players.

I haven't played ele or necro much. My mesmer has trouble getting parties I thoroughly enjoy both my ranger and my monk.

My fustrations with elementists was speaking from a pvp perspective. Ive never PvE'd with a eley, but Id imagine it would be fun and a hell of a lot easier than PvP.
I have done PvE with every class except necros and elementists. The most rewarding in my experance is the monk class. I like to play protection monk and a majority of the time my job is pretty easy and always helps.
Prot monk in PvP is a different story. Once Im identified, I have to run for cover. But its harder to loss momentum as a monk than as an elementist.
Id say the mesmer is more fustrating than anything in PvE for me.
This class can really screw with a thinking foe so they shine like diamonds in PvP.
But when up againts AI your just as well with a curse necro, spiking eley, intrupting ranger or whatever.
Its not to say mesmers arent an asset to the team, its just that once a team knows how to hold and control aggro..theres little a mesmer can do in most areas that some other class cant do as well or better.
So the fustration is in that most people overlook you for groups. Your primary skills arent anything the your team will miss if they had picked up someone else with skill.
Though in my experance, it would be better to pick up a domination mesmer rather than that third warrior.
Overall if your team composed of compatent warriors, monks and elementist/necros/rangers then thats all thats needed and much prefered over a mesmer of any sort in 98% of the areas of the game.

warrior frustrates me. i can't seem to master it well, maybe because i'm used to casters.
for me the warrior doesn't do much dmg and it's generally boring to play due to the tanking and aggroing thing. and on top of it, if anything goes wrong, first1 to blame is the warrior, second the monk.
what frustrates me even more about the warrior is that when i made her, i had in mind to do droks runs. well even after much practice and good gear i still die on the way .....
if i wouldn't of gotten 15k armor for it, i would of deleted it by now.

Warrior by far...
I played as a Monk for so long, that when I switched to a warrior i felt out of the loop. A few days playing and I had no idea what the party was up too when we were fighting. I felt sort of in my own little world.
Leads me to believe the class itself leads to arrgo'ing idiots.
