I use a W/R to run. And Melandru's Resilience for those hexes. A combo of sprint and storm chaser will let you run almost non-stop. You can use dodge, but without expertise, its not too useful. Balanced stance for those wurms, giants, etc. Endure pain, stuff to keep you going.
As for slow down hexes and those big damage attacks... you need to be lucky. You can make good money in the desert. And you can get a lot of practice working in the earlier parts of the game.

Lieutenant's Helm, possibly
pkodyssey
Where do you get one of those???

You can craft the lieutenants helm in the Henge of Denravi. It reduces the time hexes last on you by 50% or more (cant quite remember the actual percentage) Its not max armor though.
I take the W/Mo for running Sprint and Charge and you can run non-stop through areas that dont have many threats. For runing to Droks, you need to conserve energy and skills a bit more.
I have heard that R/Mo make excellent runners as well

I believe the HoD Lieutenants Helm reduces by 20% and has an AL of 60.

I have run with my N/R from yaks to lions...that is a very hard run for that type...

you can 55 monk run Elonas Reach, just bring mend ailment for those pesky cripples, and make sure to cast your spells before going up against a ranger, because they will daze you.

I would just like to point out it USED to be 50%. My tips: W/Mo is the most resiliant but as some have stated, a R/W or W/R can run farther and faster. I prefer a W/Mo because of Holy Veil, Purge Conditions, and Watchful Spirit. I also run with a R/W/Mo and my Mo/W. Everything works well it's just deciding what you want to do. For finding easy, highly paying runs I recomend Beacon's Perch, that is probably the running capital of the world, popular end sites include the desert, Gates of Kryta, Lion's Arch, and of course, Droknar's Forge! I hope this helps if you need more information feel free to add me in-game.
