Hey, today I just identified something like this:
Vampiric Sword of Deathbane (something similar)
Damage 7-9
Life Stealing: 1
Health Regeneration: -1
I'm level 9, and at first glance I thought this weapon was good. I went to test it in the arena and once I finished loading my hp was dropping like crazy. I found it to be quite useless.
My question is should I use this? If so, when? Or should I just sell it? I know I'm noobie, but all help is appreciated!
Question about my sword

Don't use it. A pip of health regen is 2 health per second. And your sword is only giving you 1 health per swing (1.33 s) so you're actually losing health even if you hit and a lot of times you don't. Find something better that gives you at least 3 health per hit.

Well, the point with vampiric swords is that they add damage. The life stealing damage is added to the weapons normal damage.

Okay, so what should I do with it then? Try and sell it? If so, how much would something like that go for?

Yeah it adds damage too, but is it really worth it if you're losing more health than your opponent using it?
Oh yeah, I wouldnt bother selling it. It's too low in damage and too health draining.

So it's basically vendor trash?
At least I got a decent shield today. 9 armor with -1 damage recieved while hexed.

sell it or salvage.

The vampiric modifier can be good to boost your damage- however, life steal: 1 is not very good- I would probably either sell it or salvage it. Basically that modifier will add 1 extra damage to each of your attacks, at the cost of 2 health per second. If you find one with 2-3 life steal(I think 3 is max for swords and axes, 5 for bows and hammers), it might be worth trying out- just be sure to have a different weapon that you can switch to when you're not fighting so that you don't have to suffer the health degeneration when you're not actually using the benefit that goes with it.
