I've seen people putting stars (NOT asterisks *** - but STARS), circles, etc in the text field in Guild Wars. I've seen ads for "WTS/WTB" with stars in them, stuff like that..

I asked one of them and he said "gimme 2k and i tell u" ..So naturally I decided to come here and see if the community would be willing to help without swindling me for the info. Hope someone's nice enough

I would rather not tell you, actually, as it's annoying enough as-is and I don't want it spreading around. Sorry.

So, then the point of you replying was..?

I didn't say I was going to use it - I never sell items, I just slavage or give them to guild members. I'm just curious how they do it as ASCII codes don't work. you can take a symbol like this © and paste it into GW and it works, but there's no ascii code for Western text that creates a star.

My point is: You're rude. You could've not replied instead of being a smart mouth.

You're obviously intelligent enough to figure it out, if a bit soft-skinned. If it isn't ASCII, as you've discovered, look around for something similar. I guarantee it won't take long to find.

I'm not done looking But I am done for the night. Spent 20 minutes looking, tried Wingdings and Webdings fonts, etc.. Those copy into the Western equivalent of the o with a little swirl above it. I'll get it, but not right now.

Don't be such an ass. refyused asked a question, you had nothing useful to contribute.

http://gw.skial.com/symbols - copy-paste.

I contributed that it's something that's very much annoying already, and would get even moreso if more people start to learn about it.

And so what if it is? I hate it as well, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to make a useless post that serves to aggravate the thread starter by dangling something in front of him or her. "Oh, here, I know a secret that a lot of people already know but I'm not going to tell you, nyah nyah."

Your "contribution" was pretty much useless to the thread starter in getting the question answered. kthxbai.

Question answered. In fact, it's actually been answered before, too; earlier threads are easily found by searching for "ascii", but who ever uses search? Closed.
