Looking for Guild with Integrity and Honesty: Solid, Versitle, Dedicated Player

Hi there,

I'm writing because my current guild has shown me their true faces, and I do not like what I see.

I'm looking to join a guild that cares about its members. One that provides help, advice, and the opportunity to participate in group PvP and PvE to all players - from new to experienced.

Pardon my bluntness, but the online community is full of elitists, selfish, and self centered pricks that only care about their own success. However, I have also run accross my fair share of truely selfless people willing to help and contribute, even to those whome they do not know. I'd like to think I fit into the latter.

No, I am not rank 3. Yes, I still have much to learn about GW as I'm only a month in, but I am a very solid player and more importantly a quick learner - open to new ideas, strategies, and leadership. I help others whenever I can and appriciaite the help given to me.

I love playing guild wars and I'm simply looking for a guild that respects its members and most importantly has fun!

Myself:
- On very frequently (between 5 - 7 days a week)
- I'm EST (GMT - 5)
- Bought the game a month ago
- Love both PvP and PvE
- Two lvl20's so far: N/Me, W/Mo
- On the way: R/E
- I follow the forum; familliar with new PvP builds etc.
- Always willing to hlep others run, cap, etc.
- I'm a solid player already, only getting better

Guild I'm Looking For:
- PvPs a decent amount (couple times a week at least)
- Organized: adapting to pvp metagame, organizing builds w/players, etc.
- Leaders / Officers that arn't conceited
- Plays frequently
- Website & Forum for the guild a big plus
- Uses chat of some sort (ts, vent, rogr wilco)
- Dedicated to becoming better w
- Still PvEs some too: Soro's Furnace, UW, FoW farming, missions, etc.
- I think you get the point

Please leave a message here if you have a spot open, with your website URL if you have one, *and your IGN*. No, I don't need to be an officer. If you need someone for it though, I will fill it - and do a very good job.

I'm not listing my IGN or guild right now because I do not wish to disrespect them despite the circumstances.

Thank you!

This is exactly NOT what I'm looking for. I just started playing a month ago - so no, I'm not ranked yet. I'm not looking for a guild that will accept someone soley on rank and not on integrity.

I can vouch for Monty. Not in his guild but I have played with him and some of his other guildies on several occasions. They are good guys and they know the game!

Whats up Monty?

Here's my recommendations for you Newton...

First, this should be pretty obvious, don't take blind invites for guilds, and don't join guilds that spam recruiting messages. The odds of these guilds being worth your time are incredibly slim.

What you want to do is go do PvP/PvE and try to find people that you enjoy playing with. Any time you're doing something with any group, talk to them, see if they're all just zombies, or if some of them are fun to play with. Similarly, don't be afraid to show that you have some idea what's going on--ask your party about skills, make friendly suggestions to allies' builds, and act on suggestions made to yours, for example. Show that you have some knowledge and experience and are flexible. If you're asked to join a guild, let them know your expectations: be it PvP, farming, fun, whatever.

Finally, I would recommend (if you can) going as a guest to a guild's GvG or tombs run before you join. Why? Well, first, you will get to see that they can actually field a full team, which is important for any PvP success, obviously. You'll also be able to get a feel for the types of personalities that you're dealing with, especially in a pressure situation. Does the leader get upset when you lose? Or do they laugh it off and see what you can do to improve?

As my last piece of advice, I will recommend this: don't get too attached to a bad guild. If you aren't liking how your guild is being run, or don't like an individual or two in your guild, talk to the leader or one of the officers. If nothing is done, cut your losses and get out. One of my biggest mistakes in GW was sticking with a guild for ~1 1/2 months that never managed to get enough active people to be able to PvP.

If you're looking for womewhere to sort of start over with all new people, you might consider SH. (www.stormhavenguild.com)

We recently (yesterday) took a major player loss, and seem to be switching a bit over from all PvP to more of a balance. Now would be the best time to join us if interested.

I cannot guarantee anything about what will go on, but it might work out for you.
