Maximum damage per hit

How exactly would you achieve this? I suggest, through a W/E with support. Anything to improve on it would be helpful. This really isn't intended to be a realistic idea.

Units needed in the party
W/E - Main attacker
Mo/Me/N/R, Any effective combination of these.

The use of multiple W/Es is a possibility.

W/E
Axe Damage - 28 damage.
Conjure Fire - +13 damage
Mark of Rodgort - None, triggers fragility.
Eviscerate - +34 damage

R/Me (It's suggested that both of these not simply be for support, but they had to be including because this is supposed to be maximum damage)

Winnowing - +4 damage
Fragility - +17 damage
(The ranger can use winter and greater conflagration to make all physical and elemental damage cold, and then get the entire party to wear armor against cold. The mesmers can use mantra of frost.)

Mo/N

Judge's Insight - +20% armor penetration
Order of Pain - +13 damage
Weaken Armor - -20 enemy armor
Order of the Vampire - +13 damage
Strength of Honor - +8 damage

28 damage with 20% armor penetration with the enemy having 20 less AL (I don't know whether or not eviscerate stacks with the 20% penetration and the AL so I'll assume it doesn't.) does 45 damage. Add the damage from eviscerate and you get 79 damage in one hit. Add Fragility, which will add 17 damage on for every condition caused by the attack, and you get 113. Add conjure flame, and you get 126 damage in one hit. Add Order of Pain, Winnowing, Order of the vampire, and Strength of Honor, and you're at 151 damage per hit.

I highly doubt you could make any effective use of this. Is there any way to make it stack higher, then, or are my calculations wrong?

your best bet would be to boost a 15 str and 16 hammer build and wait for a critical with mighty blow on to trigger. this along with other skills (some mentioned above, some not) would be the highest damage output in the game

ok, i think the following is correct:

for conjure to work, you need a fire/air/water weapon, and therefore
a) order of the vampire, order of pain, barbs, and weaken armour wont work, since they all trigger only on physical damage.

Likewise, winnowing will only trigger on physical and so thats redundant.

Frag will do +17 x 2 since there is the burning from mark trigger and also the deep wound from eviscerate isnt there?

Of course, once you cast judges insight on the target all its damage is converted to holy, and so again, everything doesnt work including the conjures (at least i assume, your no longer doing fire damage, but then again, the weapon is still fire. Somehow, i believe it doesnt stack, otherwise its a free +13 ive been missing for some time)

Strength of honor should work

May i suggest 16 axe, giving +42 instead of 34. Also, there is the ap from strength which i think you missed, so assume 15, since your going for maximum damage.

Also, me/r would probably be better. Get some surge/burn/shatter/etc love and a higher damage on frag. I think you can dump some points in ws and live with it for teh extr4 damage -.-

The highest damage ive seen so far is some guy went down to uw, put on frenzy and healing signet with no armour, and got owned for 19,xxx damage.

No mention of a Sundering Weapon here either. That'll add another +10% AP.

Also noticed you put -20 AL for Judge's, rather than -20%. You'd be targetting a 60AL target for this I would assume, so 20% is only -12 AL.

Yes.

1.) Conjure Flame and Mark of Rodgort require fire damage
2.) Barbs, Orders, Weaken Armor, and Winnowing all require physical damage
3.) Judge's Insight changes your damage to Holy
4.) Winter makes all your damage into cold.

Strength of Honor should be the only thing that works.

Try again, MacGyver.

P.S. Sundering is garbage. Use a Vampiric if you want more damage.

why not have the target wear no armor in the first place?

also. make it a warrior and have him use frenzie and healing signet. 4x damage

but i think the damage per hit caps off at like 50% max health (this is only a single hit though. conjure would bypass it cause its technically another hit)

also you have to count the 20% reduction in health from eviscerate. i believe that would count as "damage done" too

i don't know if you want it to be a melee hit. but i think you could get a VERY nice total damage with a 16 death necro doing putrid with 3 teams gathered around. 126x27(ghostly heros included)=3402 damage for one skill. i think its armor penetrating though, so it wouldn't work better with a 0 armor target

this is all in an optimal situation though. ingame in a normal fight you wouldn't get a whole lot over 100 damage
