well im a lvl 19 ranger in my full pink druids armor from drok. I have ascended and such and i dont want to lose this character. But i made a big mistake. I bought a ton of skills and now a skill costs me 350 gold for 1 skill, soon to be up to 400 gold.....is there anyway to fix this? will the price drop once i get more skill points?

thnx for any help

Nope, the price won't drop unless you make a new character. On the plus side, it does cap at 1 platinum a skill, as opposed to the older system where prices weren't capped.

lol.. true... but if you still find skill-buying expensive, why not just go do the quests that reward you with 'em? XP, $$$, drops, and game knowledge to be found on the way ...

Yeah, but less than half of the skills of your original 2 professions can be obtained through quests, and you don't have anywhere near enough skillpoints even after finishing ALL the quests and missions to buy all the skills for those 2 professions. And then it gets much worse if you change your secondary, as skill quests cannot be repeated... you only have 5 or 6 new quests each time you change secondaries, giving you only 10-15 out of 70+ skills for that profession.

Seems kind of hypocritical to me, since ANet claims to be against farming... but the fact is you have to play the same areas over and over and over again (which is farming XP, even if not farming items) to max out your original character, much less try out other secondaries!

So, OP, don't worry about the monetary cost. It will be far more difficult to earn the XP to buy new skills than to raise the money for them.

A trip to FoW or UW with those quests is usually enough to give me a skill point when i need it. I suggest you try it

ANet has never once made any form of statement to the effect that they are against farming. They are against people selling gold, items etc on eBay, they are not against farming. Just because one person doesn't like doing the same area over and over doesn't mean everyone hates it, and they know this.
