Hello all, I don't know if many of those here surf the sell/buy forums, but I am a reputable trader there, so this is not a fake pic. I am very curious if anyone else has or knows of a friend that still has this axe.
This guy told me he had 2 left tonight, that were not nerfed in the big swipe last night. Anyone know if this is the way the axes come from the quest now and are just un-tripple/double-moddable, or this is another bug that has occured?

The axe (most of it with mods) should have been wipe out with last night's patch. Althought i haven't check my (it got +25/+20 health grip on it) so i'll do it tonight.
The best way to check is to ask the guy to open a trade window with you. If he doesn't than it prove one thing, he is lying and BSing you. If he does open it and it showed the 6-16 (req3) with two mods on it ascalon axe. Than it's not yet nerf. Althought with thread like this, A-Net will find ways to nerf it.

UPDATED: READ MY LAST POST 3-4 REPLIES DOWN.
The axe he showed you and tryed to scam off as a glitched axe, is nothing more than the current reward for that quest.
It has the same +25 hp, and 15% charr slaying, but DOES NOT HOLD 2 GRIPS - DONT BE SCAMMED.

Was about 1 hour ago. Unless he stayed on all night, I dunno how this could have happened. I didn't see him lite up on my list today when I was on. Then I logged on to give a friend some cash and there he was. He pmd me about the axes, I asked to see it to believe him, and sure enough he had this. Also you can tell from my nerfed axe and his thats its post patch, the skin is different on both.

just to make sure (althought Gaile Gray and A-Net will be watching this soon)
Tell him to logoff, (and not that click "offline" and back trick) tell him to complete logoff and sign back. Than look at the axe.
Maybe he didn't get the patch yet or found a way around the nerfing patch to remove this axe.

I'll check my current axe with the two grip tonight. There a chance its gone but if it still remain than A-Net's nerf bat missed.
Also, its weird that he won't let you mod it or have him put one mod on it. So be careful, either he know that the axe can't be modded and trying to scam you for it.

I had a clean one in my inventory the nerf bat got both, 20/20+10/10 and my clean one. I am just curious if the nerf could have missed a few of them, since the other guy was selling a non-nerfd axe on guru today.

I wonder what would happen if you had two accounts. One un-updated with axes, the other updated, then transfer the axes to the updated account?

If people are finding a way to keep the axe, they should be banned. It was already bad enough to exploit it in the first place...but now people are trying to cheat the system again. If that isnt grounds for banning then nothing is.

Right after the patch, there was a guy in tombs asking around for a blue SoA axe, and everyone was ridiculing him, but he kept saying "I know what I'm doing." He was clearly aware of the patch (I talked to him), but he insisted there was a way around the nerf. Hmm.

Even if there was a way around the patch in order for the item to be useful it has to be used and seen. In order to sell it you have to advertise. Anytime Anet find one it *will* be removed regardles of if you payed 500k and were really really slick and smart for the thing. In fact, at this point, it wouldn't be beyond an account ban since it was more of a hack instead of simply taking advantage of a bug.
But, if greed takes you just look at the complaints on the SoA thread. If you find and buy one and the above happens - remember this thread.

i was in dist 1 TOA today and saw a guy still advertising the 40% axe. he didnt post a price but was saying for serious buyers only. didnt care to look at it myself so i just went on my way

I saw the same guy last night in TOA, and actually opened a trade with him. The axe he was selling was unmodded, but he claimed that "you can still do it". Typical scammer, no more, no less.

You can still mod it once to get +25 hp and a second grip, so it's still somewhat useful. However, since the new version is now HoD but attainable, it's worthless. Move on to the next item.

and they are correcting their error.by now anybody looking to find some way around the nerf is doing it to deliberately violate what Anet is doing.
there can be no possible claim of *WELL I DIDNT KNOW* in this case and is a violation of EULA/TOA which is banable.
THAT IS WHY THEY WILL BE BANNED IF THEY FIND A WAY AROUND IT
