SOA Axes Still Available?

Hello all, I don't know if many of those here surf the sell/buy forums, but I am a reputable trader there, so this is not a fake pic. I am very curious if anyone else has or knows of a friend that still has this axe.

This guy told me he had 2 left tonight, that were not nerfed in the big swipe last night. Anyone know if this is the way the axes come from the quest now and are just un-tripple/double-moddable, or this is another bug that has occured?

The axe (most of it with mods) should have been wipe out with last night's patch. Althought i haven't check my (it got +25/+20 health grip on it) so i'll do it tonight.

The best way to check is to ask the guy to open a trade window with you. If he doesn't than it prove one thing, he is lying and BSing you. If he does open it and it showed the 6-16 (req3) with two mods on it ascalon axe. Than it's not yet nerf. Althought with thread like this, A-Net will find ways to nerf it.

The axe he showed you and tryed to scam off as a glitched axe, is nothing more than the current reward for that quest.

It has the same +25 hp, and 15% charr slaying, but DOES NOT HOLD 2 GRIPS - DONT BE SCAMMED.

Was about 1 hour ago. Unless he stayed on all night, I dunno how this could have happened. I didn't see him lite up on my list today when I was on. Then I logged on to give a friend some cash and there he was. He pmd me about the axes, I asked to see it to believe him, and sure enough he had this. Also you can tell from my nerfed axe and his thats its post patch, the skin is different on both.

Tell him to logoff, (and not that click "offline" and back trick) tell him to complete logoff and sign back. Than look at the axe.

Maybe he didn't get the patch yet or found a way around the nerfing patch to remove this axe.

You could be right, I really don't know him that well. You know how loosely friendships occur in GW, and I have only had him on my list for 1 week or a bit longer. I asked him to give me the axe and if I could try to mod it before I payed him, but he refused. However, someone tried to sell a non-nerfed axe on guru today, but a mod closed the thread. So I am thinking there might be more to this nerf than meets the eye, but its all speculation on my part.

I'll check my current axe with the two grip tonight. There a chance its gone but if it still remain than A-Net's nerf bat missed.

Also, its weird that he won't let you mod it or have him put one mod on it. So be careful, either he know that the axe can't be modded and trying to scam you for it.

He was selling it relatively cheap, considering if the "nerf bat" missed a few of them, but I wasn't about to risk any money on it. He said he would have mod them but he was out of cash and grips atm. With several people spending all there liquidated assets to buy/mod these axes, he could be telling the truth.

I had a clean one in my inventory the nerf bat got both, 20/20+10/10 and my clean one. I am just curious if the nerf could have missed a few of them, since the other guy was selling a non-nerfd axe on guru today.

Didn't that axe have a battle pick skin?

i think that is the axe you get from one of the collectors.

I wonder what would happen if you had two accounts. One un-updated with axes, the other updated, then transfer the axes to the updated account?

pre and post patch cannot interact that wouldn't work

If people are finding a way to keep the axe, they should be banned. It was already bad enough to exploit it in the first place...but now people are trying to cheat the system again. If that isnt grounds for banning then nothing is.

He didnt cheat the game, he was scamming you. I tested and got the answer!

PRE-PATCH:
Quest gave a battleaxe with pick skin, that was bugged to give 2 grips.

POST FIRST PATCH:
All CURRENTLY EXISTING SoA axes further modded or not, were replaced with a plain white unmodded battleaxe.

POST SECOND PATCH:
The quest reward was updated so that the reward holds the same mods as it used to, but no longer has a 2 grip glitch.

Right after the patch, there was a guy in tombs asking around for a blue SoA axe, and everyone was ridiculing him, but he kept saying "I know what I'm doing." He was clearly aware of the patch (I talked to him), but he insisted there was a way around the nerf. Hmm.
