Why do top 50 guilds...even rank 3...go into a GvG match with Henches and die? Is it just me or is something wrong...

Tomb and GVG is much different. So top ranked guild can be not good at tomb, especially if they are gvg oriented guilds. And most top guild often test build in tomb.

This update is just like the Halloween one, just as Mr Weeks said there will be more and more updates to come.
For anyone who missed the Halloween event it happened exactly like this update.
The towns changed, a day later we got the collectors and then Halloween night we got the Mad king and the gifts and such.
Prolly the same thing would happen with Wintersday update event.
Keep in mind that all this talk about santa hats and christmas gifts are just rumors made up by others.
There are sure going to be gifts and things to collect but as of now no one knows what they are except Anet.
Same goes for the quests they mentioned.

As far as quests go look for Nikolaus in Lions Arch, Ive heard stories of candy cane shards being made into candy cane weapons.

I would also guess from Grandpa Coalshack's dialogue posted earlier in this thread, that we'll see something big from Dwayna and Grenth, maybe on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day (December 25th).
Maybe even be able to have snowball fights in Lion's Arch? That would be nice.

Improvements to Observer Mode:
* You can now click on a player's name in the heads-up display to center the camera on that player.
* The Map window now automatically repositions and centers itself on the selected character if that character moves outside of the visible area.
* The list of observable games has better map thumbnails and sorts games by start time.
