Anyone else think they need a way to get information on guilds?

For example, guild information would be loaded to a server so you could view via brower who is in what guilds and who are the leaders of each guild. That way people wanting to apply to join a guild would be able to get in contant with the person, see what character is part of what guild, or if you get invited to a guild, you could see who all is in the guild inviting you.
GW support suggested I post this idea to get feedback from its playerbase.

definitely, from the interest in this game thats erupting everywhere then guilds will be a swine to keep up on.
would be great to have a central database where all sorts of events could be organised.
unless of course some smug git at GSA has already had the idea.

Thatd be very nice to see. Especially for these people that seem to think winning GVG several times in a row over ONE DAY = they are teh ultimate and go on a huge recruitment spree because of a lucky condition.
[Wont name names, but within the next day or so they were at 1/2 ratio of Win loss after having gone like 9/0 in one day.]
So on that note: It'd be nice to see HOW OLD the guild is.

Heh, I posted having a guild info sheet in each town idea on the suggestion post yesterday, and someone quickly posted slamming the idea. It's crazy the amount of guilds I've seen so far. If you do a check of everyone in Lion's arch I saw at least 20 different guilds.

Tons of people slam ideas around here. Getting kind of used to it...
People just don't like change I guess. Then they have to re-learn stuff

Yeah I think its a good idea. Would make managing a guild much easier also.

I think a little quickie GuildInfo window tied to the Abbreviation (click on "MoD") would be extremely nice. Name of guild, boss, website, short memo.

Back in the day Ultima online had (has) something like this. A website where you could look up a guild and see the members.
Ramus
DAOC did something great like that.
You would think that a game called "Guild Wars" may have more "guild" to it.

All for it here. I'd like to know some information about guilds out there.

Try checking out the guild recruitment forums. They are there for a reason.
Some guilds however, don't advertise much. My particular guild is invite only...so the only way for you to get attention is either
1) you are a RL friend
2) we had you in a PUG and decided that you have enough intelligence
3) see reason #2
I am sure a lot of guilds out there have the same recruitment format.

My guild is pretty much empty, so at this point I'll take anyone .

lol yeh im a bit dissapointed what you can do with guilds.
The game is supposed to be all around them ( well a bit ) and you can do very little with them.
Im realy fond of them now. But i would like to see some more features. Especialy in Guild Halls. Make it more like a meeting place, and less than a map for gvg

I know Shadowbane has something like this where you can view each guild and its entire member list. AC had nothing from Turbine, but 3rd party apps came out with a few things that would sorta help with finding who was in what guild.
