Hi there,
Could someone please describe in as much detail as possible each of the bows, their stats (refire rate etc.), strengths / weaksnesses, and which bow is best for what (spiking, interrupting, pve pulling, pve damage, etc.)
If you're a ranger and you know this, your help would be greatly appriciated. If you post and awsome and very detailed post I'll even tip you =)
Thanks,
Isaac
Lend your advice on BOW TYPES please!

Do I still get a tip? XP
Anyways, the common consensus is usually a Longbow-type for pulling, a Shortbow-type for damage, and a Recurve/Composite-type for interruption. Reasing being range, refire rate, and arrow speed respectively. Worthy of an honorable mention is the Horn-type bows, which have a built-in, unlisted modifier that adds +10% Armor Penetration to every attack, but their ungodly slow refire rate means that a Shortbow-type actually does more damage over time. Still, for packing every ounce of power you can into a single shot, Horn's your baby.

Does anybody know if Horn Bow's -10% AL adds up with Penetrating Attack? That will be -30% a hit?
And if you use Soundering upgrade, that means it can be a -40% AL hit with Penetrating Attack?
And does Horn bow's -10 add up with Weaken Armor? Just want to get some answers. I actually like Horn bow. I use Tiger Fury to speed it up and I can do tons of damage.

To my knowledge, the Horn's penetration mod stacks just fine with anything it can. Thus, a Sundering Horn Bow firing a Penetrating Attack while under the Judge's Insight enchantment against a target afflicted with Weaken Armor is going to hurt like a railgun slug to the face. If the Sundering string kicks in, and my math is correct, that's 80 armor penetration. Which is, frankly, insane :-P
hellboy harpy
well i dont really know how to describe it in detail but all of the bows almost have the same penetration on them and they all almost have the same rate of speed. but if i were you i would go with the storm bow. i have had alot of ranger accounts and have tried almost every bow that i can think of but it depends on what you like
for longbows take the storm bow
for medium bows take the horn bow i would say (believe it or not)
and for short bows take the half moon bow
it just depends on what you like to use but the best penetration would be either from the storm bow or from the half moon bow
just a thought

Only bow with armor penetration is the Horn-class, Hellboy. That means Horns, Ivories, and Shadows. Other than those, bows don't have any special AP properties.
imaginary friend
Longbows: storm
medium range: recurve
short bows: candy cane bow
medium range: recurve
short bows: candy cane bow

Does the CC bow have any requirements?

Imaginary Friend is being a doofus :-P. The Candy Cane Bow is a miserable weapon for actually fighting, though it is awesome for making your friends hate you if you have one and they don't XD.
Anyways. As far as short-range bows go, Shortbows and Half Moons have the same stats. Half Moons are just rarer and tend to cost more. Also, Storm Bows are just reskinned Long Bows, so if you feel like saving some money but still want a Storm's performance, grab a good Long. Remember, for Cheap Bastards, collectors are your friends :-P
