Mouse issues on laptop

I've been using a laptop to play guild wars for quite some time now, and so far my touch pad has been working fine. I used to be able to zoom into my character by clicking both mouse buttons, now, it does nothing and i am angry~the view is like sitting in the back row of a theatre trying to read a 6 pt font. I've looked in the F11 setup menu in GW but so far, I've been unable to find the correct option. I'm not sure whether the computer or my instance of Gw is the problem. This has happened once before, and i resolved it by entering a mouse menu and changing the double mouse button function into the mouse wheel, which is usually used for zooming in. At the time, I did not have Windows XP SP2, which i believe may have affected something. Thank you for your help.
