Just curious if anyone has tried it with mostly Death skills.
My ideas are:
Mantra of Resolve
Deathly Swarm (84 damage "before" armor, does this mean pure dmg?)
Deathly Chill (to begin the chain?)
Putrid Explosion
Well of Suffering
and probably Vile Touch which can't be resisted.
I guess the main idea is Deathly Swarm since it only has 3s recharge. I know the casting time is long and that's why you need mantra of resolve to prevent some interruptions.
Has anyone tried it with at least 5-6 Necros? Is this even doable? I guess the only benefit of Death spike is that Death seems to do a bit more than Blood and the Swarm has a small radius.
Can you spike with Death skills?

Uhm, If you're looking for a blood death pvp build this is what i use:
dark aura
touch of agony
dark pact
vamp touch
blood renewal
demonic flesh
aura of the lich (elite)
res sig
Start with aura of the lich, then a demonic flesh to boost your health a little, followed by dark aura. Then charge in and start sacrificing health, vamp touch is just in there for a boost if you find your self getting to low on health.

Well, I've tried Deathly Swarm.... it does get reduced by armor. Horrible. 84 cold damage on warrior/ranger is so not good. I guess it's somewhat useful if you use Swarm against casters. The damage isn't bad but the casting is. The recharge is great though.
I am not impressed...
How about spike with Fire spells? I guess resistance has a lot to do with the reason why people don't spike with death and fire. Mostly Air and Blood. sigh

I wondered about the way Deadly Swarm propagates - if it follws the same targetting each time it should allow spiking, followed by 2 other spikes - which could be handy, in that few people can respond to 3 separate targets getting spiked. But it IS slow, and the damage is before armour, making it rather weak.

He's asking for a spike, and guess what, you just need 1 skill in order to do so, possibly a second one for additionall damage. When you want your death necr (presumably tainted) in a rainbow spike just make sure your swarm goes of at the end of countdown...
I guess some people should start to look a bit more into what's meant by "spiking".

I think he means Spike in the team sense, as in each person carries 1 or 2 high damage spells and times out their activation to go off simultaneously.
Although in my opinion, when you are talking about a 'spike build', at least PvE-wise, you're referring to a build that can do massive bulk damage on their own and as quickly as possible... as opposed to consistent damage, degen, etc.
I've been wondering about a necro 'death spike' myself, and was actually somewhat successful with Swarm and Chill, at least on lower armor foes. But if you ask me, having an army of Horrors and Fiends attacking at the same time can take down foes even faster along with Swarm and Chill.

If the targets are stationary, then yes, it will propagate the same each time. But what's the chance that will happen in PvP?
I haven't pinned the exception yet, but it damn near always works from right to left, near to far, relative to the caster. Rarely will it propagate from the target towards the caster, unless there are no other options.
