A guildie playing on the EU servers got all excited when he heard I found a Candy Cane Shard, Is it that rare o_o? Or just not released in Euro Servers yet?

The candy cane shards can be made into weapons. The crafter should be on american servers on a week or so (currently on EU servers??), and he will make weapons for you out of said shards, 5 shards = 1 sword, and so on.

The crafter is in Lion's Arch now. He's in the crafter row where all the other crafters are.

Ok, so we have officially established that they drop everywhere. I guess no more people have to post where their's dropped now.
I still have some halloween items, and think that those might become worth something, but everyone has these Christmas items, so I think that they won't have much value. There are more people selling shards than people buying, and I mean a LOT more.

Hi guys, i got 5 Wintersdays shields for 4 candy canes each! i heard each shield will be worth 40k next christmass atleast!! the candy cane maker sells you terrible items. The bow is the only decent item that you might want to buy!
I suggest to you all that you stock up on these items and sell them in a few monthes for thousands of gold!

The best places to farm for candycane shards are outside of Piken Square (kill the charr and usually you will get one) or north of sardelac sanitarium (kill the hulking stone elementals)
Now, why do you need candycane shards?
They are selling for about 800 each, so you can make some decent money
Trade 4 in for candycane weapons at Lions Arch, and Ascalon. The Lions Arch candymaker is by the merchants, the Ascalon candymaker is by Symon the Scribe.
Also, you can trade 8 in for a peppermint shield, gingerbread shield, or gingerbread icon in the snowball arenas which can be reached in Ascalon, Droknars, Lions Arch, and Tomb of the Primeval Kings. The guy is between Dwayna and Grenth.
I'm guessing that these weapons and shields will skyrocket in price, and it would probably be a better investment to have the weapons than to keep the shards since after the christmas update it over they will be pretty useless.
