Winter Updates Thread

So...it doesn't seem like they added the snowball update this patch. But I'm fairly certain they added a lot of new npcs in LA, Droks and Ascalon. They seem to be talking about many of the different items you can get, so I'm not sure if they want those items, or if they will be linked to new quests.

so, the candy cane shards drop from any monster in the game?

How come the bow and hammer have better stats than the the rest of the weapons? What about us axe wielders? Oh well it's all still pretty cool, can't wait for the snow ball fights.

Not Henge because if you play the full game you noticed that the mantle destroyed Dnravi therefor it would no longer be there. Henge of Denravi was basically a camp. Amnoon Oasis, there is no one living there besides ghosts, you, and Devona and the henchies and stuff. All the other people you meet are not really there for the storyline aspect it is just you and the henchies and other NPC's.

same reasons why regular hammers/bows have more damage then staffs/wands/axes-swords.

What type of bow is the Candy Cane Bow?

Feels like a shortbow.

I wonder how much of the PVP Community would use the gingerbread shield - 10 armor, no req.

I think it's more of a comercial cost/benefit thing. Most PCs will be in one of those 3 areas and Anet probably doesn't have the time or want the effort of decorating everything.

I find it's actually useful for ra/me illusionary warrior.

ok guys i figured out the snowball thing all u gotta do is log out then put in ur password. go down click options. then change ur territory to europe and then chose ur char go to la or tomb of primevil kings and talk to the snowball guy by the entrances. its simple

What's this about Dwayna's quest and Grenth's quest? Are there more than just the two 5000 exp ones in Lion's Arch? And when the heck does America get the dang snowball arena? Also, it is impossible to salvage the collector's gifts!

I'm getting mixed feelings on my Candy Cane Bow. Seems to have the attack speed of a Short Bow, but it has longer range. On level ground, I'm attacking things at the edge of my aggro ring, w/o aggro'ing the mob (until after the first hit, of course).

I'll have to play around with it some more to be sure, but I'm timing its fireing interval with Barrage, and so far it looks like it has the same speed as a shortbow. But, like I said, longer range :X

Simple, maybe, but it also involves using up one of your very limited server switches...

Please, Anet, give everybody the updates at the same time. Please!

Okay- earlier, Christmas collectors were mentioned...

Does that mean that there's collectors that will give you Candy Cane Shards for other things?

And another thing... you mentioned salvagable gifts...

Where does one obtain these gifts?

Can anyone like help me get a Candy Cane Axe or something, Because i have like no idea how to get them and all. I have'nt been Playing GW for oh so long.

yeah brkn i figured that out lol but omg this is sweet the snowballs and all!!!!

ecto bomb...just start killing monsters, save up 4 cc shards, go to the candysmith in LA (next to the rune trader)...there's your candy axe

Will we need the XMAS weapons, shields and focuses to plz santa or nything of the sort?

Will they b required for the event? I can't decide if i wanna sell my shards or not cuz i don't know if they're necessary for the event
