First my concern: I realize you don't (or at least didn't) expect to have a problem handling the load the auction site would need, but the site is still very new, and has very few people on it compared to what it will in the near future. Even still though, it's taking quite a long time to load the main auction page, and I can only see it getting worse and worse... Is anything being done to prevent this from happening?
Next my suggestion: I know this has been brought up many times by many people, but with an increasing number of auction items, It's very difficult to FIND items that I might want to buy. Sellers are left to promote their items as they see fit, and many simply type the name of the item (ie. "TRUNCHEON") and then post a picture, so the only searchable part of that entire items auction is "truncheon". With more multiple choice options for the seller (ie. which profession it's meant for, or attribute) it will increase not only the items chances of getting sold by the seller, but also found by the buyer. For example: I'm currently looking for 2 items, a +15 energy truncheon with curses mod, and a monk rod with recharge/speed for prot/healing. There's no real way to go about searching for these items, except to just go to the 1handed caster items and sift through each piece of garbage purple cane people decide to put up there.
I still love the system, don't get me wrong just trying to help.

sno, the Advanced search, where you can search through the items description as well as the title would probably be a better option.
sno, and that slow home-page loading is almost done. Right now, if you are not logged in, the homepage is lightening fast because we've cached it. We are almost done coding it so that those logged in will experience the same.

It's items like this that I'm mostly refering to
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/auction/item.php/id=215
search cannot possibly help this item, which is of course the fault of the seller. A more mulitple-choice based sell system would help make it easier though.

Yeah... we could put up a little "disclaimer" when you sell an item underneath the picture options letting people know that if you don't type text and only put up a picture, you will be limiting the amount of people who would see the item since a lot are searching.
