whats the best place to farm dye
in PRE
and whats the best place out of Pre
what builds are u using
and how long dose it take per run?

Charr sometimes have some nice dyes. I at least 1 on every other run doing Nolani academy with a W/Mo, really only need a few skills

very easy run to do, just pull back on the lever and the charr almost always come running in at you. Watchout of their wild blow, they will take your stances down fairly quickly, I usually get enough energy before they take bonetties off.

There is no "best place to farm dyes, I usually just solo the griffons and minotars outside of augury rock and on average I get 3-4 dyes a run. There is only 1 dye worth selling and it is black, the rest I get I just give away for free right after my run, all I do is say giving away free dye 1 time and get around 5 PMs immediatly.

you cant farm dyes cause they, like nearly everything else in this game, drop randomly. you just need some luck

all dyes but black are extremely cheap, so my advice for "dye farming" is to do normal farming and BUY dyes

Minotaur Northern Shiverpeaks. outside the Ice Cave or w/e its called. My guild mate says he gets loads of dyes there. You know how to solo minotaur =). Check any solo warrior guild for griffons its the same.

in pre, twice i got black dye from gargs and spiders in catacombs. I'd say your best bet is there.

I get a black dye about once a week, I solo griffons and hydras a lot so most of them come from them. I have also noticed that I get better drops when I have a lot of gold. Other people I know have said the same thing. Don't go out farming hoping to get a black dye because I know people that have been playing the game for months and havent gotten 1 yet. You usually find what you want when your not looking for it.

Here is what I got from a few days of Dye farming outside the ice caves of Shiverpeak. I find the minataurs up here drop dyes more than other items. I also got black but was not going to drop them for the picture just in case I got an Err7 message.

Aye, I've had pretty good dye drops from the minotaurs outside the ice cave, I used to practice I-Monking up there because it's pretty easy to do even without the full set of 5 runes 
I still go up there occassionally with my Ranger just to try and get a few more black dyes.

if you pay attention there are a exit in the Ice Caves mission zone.

No, Ice Tooth Cave west of yaks bend, lvl 10 minotaurs, just go in a circle around the cave area. I farmed that when I was lvl 15, and maybe just because you can kill 10 in 30 seconds, you seem to get alot of dye drops up there. It's where I got my first black drop, too.

heres a secret... for some reason i often get silver dyes (sometimes black) from the great northern wall mission. The only place i get them is before the end bit where u kill the charr boss and go on to see the army. There is a tiled area and a wreckage where u get one of the bonus items. Kill devourers there.

Start at Ice Tooth caves. There are maps showing where this is on knights-templar. Head out west around then south a bit going up a hill, then start heading north west. Now go west until you hit the rezone area. That was one run of minataurs. Now rezone and come back in and head back to ice caves. I used to get ~3 dyes during this short 15 min run.

The best place to dye farm is outside ascolan, is the most easy dye farming place, and true black dyes are rare now playing more then 8 month just found 11 black dye, the other dyes are real easy to find, btw there are more plces to farm for dyes

It doesn't matter where you farm to get a BLACK DYE because it's a random drop. People are just saying where to farm them because thats where they found the black dyes. I have found them on almost every monster, so it's just about pure luck. If your looking for BLACK DYE just farm like you normaly do and hope one comes your way.
(Proof of this is, if BLACK DYE is so hard to find wouldn't it make more sense for it to drop off high level monsters? Not Gawls in pre-s? This proves it can drop anywhere from Griffs, Gawls, Charr, Dragons. Who knows...)

Minotaurs at northern shiverpeaks outside the Ice Cave dont drop shit. I just slaughtered about 40 of them with my 55hp monk and didnt get a single dye. I have a formula. If a particular group of monsters doesnt drop a single worthy item in a single run, the place is not worth farming. I mean, c'mon!! 40 damn minataurs and not a single dye? I get at least 1-2 dyes and rarely, even a decent gold item at elona. Screw the minotaurs.

i don't think their is any place just for dye i have 50 of every dye but blk 10 blk and i farm every where fow spiders augury griffens hydras ids kryta uw its random the more u kill the better chance of getting dye i've had blk dye drop in pre , kryta ,sand drakes at elona 2 in 2 runs doing griffens at augury.
anyway big mobs more chances thats just what it is
