Im still kinda new to Gws, even tho i been playing it for few weeks. I was wondering if there is any advantage to make regular char to pvp rather than just
making pure pvp mode char. To me it seems ptless to make regular char to pvp coz unlocking skills and items are far more easier than doing it regular way...
Any advantage to make regular char to pvp?

there is an advantage, if you play PvP a lot: Max weapons
You get your pick of very nice max weapons right off the bat when you make your PvP char. That, and after you unlock some good mods, you can have a completely maxed out Vampiric Shortbow of Marksmanship with +15%^50 with Req. 9.
That, and a stockpile of Runes, and your choice of armor. I'd highly recomend at least 1 PvP only character.

no no I think you misunderstood what i said. What im trying to say is SINCE you can get best gears and can unlock hilt, pommel, runes and skills. What is the point of making regular char to farm for gears and buy skills?

I think you are missing the point...
If you use regular PvE character:
1. You get to wear whatever : Fissure, 15k armor, any color combination; whatever weapon skin
2. You get to use the experience for SOMETHING, although it is very little
3. You get faction which can be used to supplement the skills you have to create a PvP character (not really important for the PvE minded)
4. If yo go to tombs, then you can get sigils for winning, to make your own guild in PvE and also unlock fissure for your country
5. If you win on a PvE character you might get some friends to do stuf wiht you in PvE

I think you might be missing the point of a PvE char. Keep in mind there IS a story, and most of the areas in the game are PvE areas. Obviously, if you're interested in Guild Wars solely for the PvP, then there isn't too much of a point in PvE. On the other hand, I think it's much faster to unlock skills, runes, and such from PvE than from using faction in PvP.
Point is, if you're solely interested in PvP, then yes, you can forget all about PvE. But you are missing out on a huge portion of the game.

There are some.
Customization. This one is important for both Ranger and Warrior. You can only have 2 weapons on a PvP Character, and you can't customize on a PvP character (which should be possible in my opinion). Both Rangers and Warriors need a weapon with +15>50 weapon, +20<50 and +20 (while Hexed) weapon, but you can't have all 3 customized on a PvP character. You can't customize PvE-only items either, Green items, collector's items, quest items. Which are in some cases better, and always nice to customise.
Different types of armor. You can have more then 1 type of armor with a PvE Character. Changing your armor during battle is very nice. For example, when you're fighting a melee build, change to +Armor (vs Physical) armor, when you're fighting an elemental build, change to +Armor (vs Elemental) armor.
Anything else is just to small to care about. Might have missed something, but I'm tired

overall i'd say there really is no advantage to using a pve charcter over a pvp one apart from the whole swapping armour thing
that and not ahving to reroll my bloody character just cos i want to stick a different rune on or change secondaries.

pure pvp-wise, there's absolutely no use whatsoever for pve chars, but guild wars is more than pvp-only ...
Pharalon
The only class that's worth bringing a PvE char into PvP for is a warrior, simply on the strength of the Lieutenant's Helm, which is almost manditory if you're serious.
Other than that, you're almsot always better off with a PvP char.

THanks for the replies. I did finish the PvE portion of GWs with my lvl 20 warrior/mes, so i guess there is no point in making another char to do it all over against just so l can pvp with it...Altho,unlocking all the skills from scratch would be pain in the ass.
