ok i just got a new evesham Pc for christmas and we just spent ages getting the wireless networking to this pc going.

The internet is going alright but some important parts dont work.

1.came with bull gaurd , when i try to register it freezes while contacting the server.
2.tryed to install guild was , it doesn't do anything when it says "downloading"
3.tryed to get to msn messengers dowload page didn't work
4.tryed to get to a few more websites for downloading a few programs i want ..nope didn't work ,

it wasn't the firewall cause this till happened when i took it off.
i got some real bad problem with the internet.

All of those programs need some kind of internet access. Either Windows Firewall or another type of firewall is blocking access to other programs or your wireless internet settings aren't correct.

IF you are using a wireless router, I suggest that you consult your manual.

make sure all encrypting (like WEP) is set properly, both on your PC and in the router settings (instructions on how to access those settings will most likely be in the router manual)

Also make sure WINXP firewall and a 3rd party (Norton) firewall are not fighting each other...

Use an ecryption key on your wireless..one you will remember....I am amazed at how may "open" systems I find out there now with my PDA...cool for me...

Try turn of all Firewalls on all your PCs connected to your Internet Connection.

ZoneAlarm, Windows XP Built-In Firewall, everything.

That's because most parents don't know much about computers and don't trust their children enough to screw around with settings. XD

Turning off firewalls is NOT the answer. Turning on the Wireless encryption and then setting the IP range of the LAN into the trusted zone is.
