HELP steel key ?

just been teaming in springs,and an ice imp dropped a steel key for me.tried to ask team what it was for but they were more interested in the ids that dropped after it (for some 1 else).so can somebody pls tell me the use of the steel key.

Are you sure it's called Steel Key? Since a Shiverpeak Key is for Shiverpeak Chest, Steel Keys.. Never heard of them.

Northern Shiverpeak's keys ARE 'Steel Keys'.
Southern Shiverpeak's keys ARE 'Shiverpicks Keys'.

it happens, I got one in Snake Dance right after they put them into the game

when i farmed minatours up north i got them alot THEY AR MERCHANT FOOD. The thing that comes from their chests suck.

There's 2 types of chests for each region IIRC, with a small handful of exceptions (FoW/UW and Ascalon come to mind). The "Steel Key" is for a Steel Chest in the Northern Shiverpeaks. I usually find those types of chests in the Mission Areas.
As to finding it in the Southern Shiverpeaks, stuff happens. Sell it, you'll probably get more for it that way.

go to yaks bend and out of there, u can find steel chests there

had a steel key drop just today in the southern shiverpeaks. it happens, but they can only be used on northern shiverpeak chests (steel chests)
