It looks like a mumified hand with three claws? I'd post screens if I had space left to upload. Also I know there is a site floating around on the boards that has images of all the weapons but I don't remember seeing this there.

You're talking about http://tel.eohjay.net/images/weapons...grimcesta2.JPG right? It's.. a bad picture, but that's "Cesta type-4" (which is as good a description as any). I've never seen one, but.. I really want one. -.- Every now and then I find a medusa head, but that's freakishly rare. Strangely enough, I get them as drops in the pre-sear Catacombs rather frequently, but almost never anywhere else.
edit: If I were to further name this, I'd call it "Death Cesta 2". Medusa turned people to stone; that's pretty Curse-y right there. And if it's a mummified hand, well.. that's a) similar theme to the Death Magic gauntlet, and b) .. a mummy, pretty (un)dead, you know? ;p This would fit since there are two kinds of idols (Blood Magic).

I had one of these. I found it while I was doing Hell's Precipice mission with my necro. It was gold but the mods on it sucked, It wasn't better than my collector's so I sold it. Never really knew this was rare but it was taking space in bank. Oh well.

I love the graphic, but I've only gotten them from Pre-Searing. I'd bother finding one with nice mods, if I had a necro. :\

Theres also an alternative graph of the flame offhand which looks more like a wand/staff instead of the typical flamy looking thing

I just now found one of those outside of Nolani in a chest. It is +7 Energy and +21 health while hexed. Very cool looking. If anyone wants it PM Invisa Fehzel in game.

I just got this from a bandit raider in pre-searing. On my ele i got medusa heads all the time so i figured they weren't that uncommon. But they arent curses, they are earth ele.

No, I've noticed that in pre-Sear: the stats for focus items are -completely independant- of the appearance. I've had a medusa heads with Divine Favor requirement, and I'll occasionally find something like a Water Magic scroll or storm bracelet.
..although, man, that thing would be great for my Earth Magic W/E !! I've found that cross-type statting on focus items is very, very rare post-Sear, unfortunately..

when i started my necro, i foind a madusa head and one of these mumified hand in the alternate entrance to the catacombs(i think it was sort of north-west of that outpost by wizards foley) the madusa head was +4 energy and the mumified hand was +3 if i recall but i thought they werent rare so i deleted them...too bad they sucked anyway lol.

but ive encountered numerous cross-stat purple items in post-sear.
