Stupid moniter

Sometimes when I am on the computer, my monitor will just shut off for no reason, and it wont turn back on unless I restart it. Is this happening to anyone else, or do you have any suggestions on how I can fix this?

sounds like the video card is cutting out.. try a newer driver

I get the EXACT same problem.
I've tried changing Graphics Cards, using built-in graphics card, changing motherboard back to factory settings, different refresh rates, resolutions, etc etc etc.
Have you got a new Graphics card recently? ATI?

and my whole computer is only about a year old, all the best stuff that was available when we got it, is in it.

For me, I can't find this on mine, but your supposed to:
Desktop, Right-Click, Properties, Settings, Advanced, smartGART, turn your AGP if it's at x8 to x4, and turn of/disable 'Fast Write'.
^^ If you don't have that, download the ATI Catalyst Control Centre thingy of www.ati.com .

Make sure you have the correct Refresh rate setting on. Try setting it to 60.
I have a great monitor the Dell P991. Last of the older Sony Trinitron 19 inch monitors. It will cut out on me...but I know the monitor is failing....that could be what is happening to you...simply the monitor is failing.

+ I get this error, saying my Computer's just recovered from a serious problem, but it comes up everytime, error is:

Hmmm, its boxing week, I should just go buy a 42' plasma monitor.

I just re-formatted my C:, re-installed everything, got my old 9250 back in, my 9600 has a fault or something in it, gonna get my Mum to refund it (as she bought it), and then I'll use that money + some of my own to get maybe a 9800 or something. :P

I think 32'' is the perfect size for a monitor. You can still sit right in front of it like a regular screen.

You all forget the most important part, make sure your Power supply has enough power to power the video card.

Josh, you can't go wrong with a Tried & True 9800pro. They were not King of the Video Cards for a long time for nothing.

Ok, just ordered a Ebuyer Extra Value 500w ATX Power Supply in Blue With Dual Fans of eBuyer.com, I hope your right and it isn't a waste of £11 
+ I was needing some more RAM, so I ordered the exact type of 512mb RAM I ordered before, because currently, I have 512mb Kingstom RAM I ordered previously, + 256mb RAM of what already came with my PC.
So when this order comes (29th December hopefully with Priority Express Service), I'll take out my 256 (having only 2 slots lol and put my new 512 in, so I have 2 512mb). I'll go from 768 to 1024mb RAM, and a new Power Supply and I really do hope this Power Supply will make my 9600 PRO Advantage work.
