They couldn't include Santa because it's a Christian Belief.

Same reason it's called Wintersday and not Christmas.

*sigh* I hate Political Correctness.

*sigh* I hate Political Correctness. Santa is NOT a Christian belief. Santa embodies the materialism the holiday has taken on. Just wanted to clear that up. I also hate all this Political Correctness.

And man the game says Wintersday not Christmas, I wish people would get that through their heads.

Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) is not an "embodiment" of materialism, he was the common name for Saint Nicholas of Myra from Byzantine Lycia who gave out gifts to everyone. Saint Nicholas = Santa Claus. Only reason you belive he is an embodiment of materialism is because you wish him to be and you want to look astute. He WAS a Christian belief. He was the patron saint of seamen, merchants, archers, children, students, prostitutes, pharmacists, lawyers, pawnbrokers, prisoners, the city of Amsterdam and of Russia.

Most people know Christmas as a Christian holiday (Even though it is not). Christians teach that it is Jesus’ B-day.... Well surprise! Jesus was a Pisces (Born in March). The Christmas celebration we celebrate every year stems from the pagan holiday of Yule. Which was on the winter Solstice (Dec 21st this year).
It was the fourth-century Roman emperor Constantine, who first moved the celebration of Christmas to December 25.

Constantine followed the cult of Sol Invictus, a monotheistic form of sun worship that originated in Syria and was imposed by Roman emperors on their subjects a century earlier. That's why Constantine decreed that Sunday -- "the venerable day of the sun" would be the official day of rest. (Early Christians before then celebrated their holy day on the Jewish Sabbath -- Saturday.)

That's also why the celebration of Jesus' birthday (He was not born on this day) was moved from January 6th (Epiphany today) to December 25, celebrated by the cult of Sol Invictus as Natilis Invictus, the rebirth of the sun.

And are you wondering about the concept of the 12 Days of Christmas? The midwinter festival of the ancient Egyptians celebrated the birth of Horus (the prototype of the earthly king) son of Isis (the divine mother-goddess). It was 12 days long, reflecting their 12-month calendar. This concept took firm root in many other cultures. In 567 AD, Christians adopted it. Church leaders proclaimed the 12 days from December 25 to Epiphany as a sacred, festive season.

Just to clarify...

But it's ok for the Americans to celebrate Halloween (lets face it no-one else does) because they are all a bunch of pagans ??

^^^ prime example of teh sucky "political correctness" A "Saint" is a catholic belief. I as a non denominationl Christian do NOT believe in saints. Just because some long dead pope who is no closer to God than any other person once decreed that Nicholas should be seen as holier than thou does not make him a Christian belief. Did he exist, yes he did. Is he a part of the Christian doctrine that I follow, most certainly not. And for those that do see him as a saint, I'm sure they dont refer to the materialistic twist society has placed on him. No I was not trying to look astute. I believe that Christmas as it is now is not what it once was, originally the solstice, then the celebration of Jesus's birth and now the celebration of capitalism. No longer are people for the most part(keep that in mind im talking about majority not all) celebrating the birth of humanity's savior, nor are they celebrating the winter harvest/winter season. Now its all about how much loot you can pull in. How often do you hear someone say "Did you enjoy spending time with your loved ones?". People ask what you got for Christmas. That was my point, people are more concerned with what they can get out of Christmas and less interested in it's true meaning no matter what you believe it to be.

I am done here if you disagree with me lets take it to PM please, I no longer wish to hijack ristridin's thread.

I don't believe this made it on - me and my friend Jepetto got bored and started trying to start a chant.. soon everyone was doing it - it was entirely spur of the moment - we didnt really stop to tink about the religious connotations XD
